In the room, Dorothy's side seemed beautifully decorated with shelves displaying knowledge about both astrology and portal phenomena. Meanwhile, Lucy's side appeared simpler, but her red blanket added a touch of color.
"I can't believe you made me wear heels for that meeting," Lucy stated, immediately taking off her heels.
"Come on, you need to practice with more girly stuff instead of your stuffy armors that you wear all the time." Dorothy sat on the edge of her bed; the room wasn't too big or too small for them.
"Why do you keep suggesting that?!" Lucy closed her eyes, and her hair started to get shorter and whiter as her skin turned more grayish. She returned to her regular self as Lucia.
"Because I want to be a good sister to you! Dad kept saying that I was doing well for my part, but you seem not to enjoy my company." Dorothy crossed her arms, amused by how irritated Lucia was.
"Ugh! We are getting off-topic. How are we even going to do this?" Lucia asked, realizing they hadn't thought about the entire project they had to do for Kristen.
"Well, maybe ring up your baby boy and see if he can help you out~" Dorothy teased, gesturing a circle with her hands.
"For the last time, we are business partners! We are nothing else!" Lucia denied it, although her blush didn't seem to lie.
"Yeah, yeah. Keep denying your future lover however you like~" Dorothy decided to read some astrology to kill time.
Lucia huffed at her before removing her lab coat and putting it on the hanger.
As she opened the closet, a familiar azure-haired man was inside her with a rose in his mouth, dressed in a black dress shirt and red tie.
"Hey~" Sugar stated, winking at her before Lucia forcefully closed her closet with full force and stood in silence.
"Oh, speak of the devil. There he is~" Dorothy laughed half-heartedly, looking at Lucia's face.
"Anyways, how are we even gonna pull this off, genius?" She made air quotes around the genius part.
"Well, we need to research more and show up at The Culture Festival. Simple as pie," Dorothy stated. This was going to be the simplest thing she'd ever do.
"Well, I know damn well. You are gonna invite your girlfriend over so you can spend most of your time hanging out with her." Lucia pointed at her angrily. She felt like she had been doing this alone.
"Lucia, open the closet! I want to come out! Oh, you kept the coat I gave you last Christmas! That's nice."
"Hey, I have my priorities, and that's making my dear girl happy and then the mission." Dorothy wasn't afraid to admit that she was a sly dog.
"God, you are such a difficult person to deal with!" Lucia screamed into her pillow, trying to figure out what to do.
"Lucia, I'm gonna steal everything in here if you don't let me out!"
"You should let him out and talk with him about it," Dorothy suggested. Lucia groaned a little before letting Sugar out.
He was a little happy before he landed on the floor. "Dammit! Not landed on top of her." Sugar was a little disappointed.
"Okay, Sugar. Spill it, and I will spill it for you," Lucia stated, to which Sugar stood up straight.
"Oh, this is going to be fun..." Dorothy closed her book and decided to watch the mess that was about to unfold.
"Well, first off!" Sugar handed her the rose; Lucia decided to take it. "Those are roses. They're like the decaying ashes flower back in hell but prettier."
"I see, is that all you have for me?" Lucia's voice softened a little, causing Dorothy to lift an eyebrow.
"Nope, second off!" Sugar spun the Thunderbird and Trio of Crystal cartridges in his hand before handing them to her playfully. "Mission accomplished, mostly."
"Did you get the charm from them?" Lucia asked, taking the cartridges back so she could prepare them for usage.
"No, they slipped out of our hands. Sorry..." Sugar looked down at the ground; he failed one of the most important ones.
Lucia decided to smile at him "Alright, lighten up, you doofus. We will get them next time."
"Alright, fine. If that made you, I was trying to get you a new pet as well," Sugar stated, gaining a curious look from Lucia.
"Oh, what would that be?" Lucia asked, Dorothy seemed surprised at how calmly she was talking to Sugar.
"A baby pinecone dragon they got away before my team could get my hands on one." Sugar decided to sit on Lucy's bed.
"Cool room, by the way, Dorothy." Sugar complimented as she simply waved at him.
"So, what about you?" Sugar asked, "What do you want to spill about?"
"Well, did you hear all of it in the closet?" Lucia asked; Sugar nodded his head in confirmation.
"Good, we need your help that may be in your expertise," Lucia stated, grabbing Dorothy's hairbrush with her mind.
"Hm, this might take a while then, but it's manageable," Sugar said before Lucia brushed his big bushy hair.
Sugar realized something, "Wait! I think I got something for you!" Sugar looked around in his bag while Lucia kept brushing his hair.
Sugar found the book that Mianne was looking for in the library, "Found it." Sugar decided to dust it off a little before handing it to Dorothy.
"Why me, dear?" Dorothy already knew the answer, but she decided to ask anyway.
"Lucia is busy grooming my hair," Sugar pointed out; Lucia glared at her she ever made a funny remark.
Dorothy accepts the dusty tome from Sugar, eyebrows raised in surprise.
"Well now, this is a delightful and unexpected gift," she remarks, intrigued as she examines the arcane symbols etched into the leather binding. "However did you procure something so rare?"
Sugar just winks conspiratorially. "I have my methods, Dorothy. Let's just say, the royal archives of Diremaw won't be missing that one anytime soon."
Lucia gives an exasperated huff as she works to tame Sugar's wild mane of hair. "Honestly, must you always brag about your thieving exploits?" But Dorothy notices the slight smile playing about Lucia's usually stern lips.
"Oh come now, we both know you admire my audacious skills," Sugar laughs. Behind him, Lucia rolls her eyes but doesn't deny it.
Dorothy leafs curiously through the ancient text - an intriguing glimpse into the full moon. This will make a fine addition to their occult library.
"Well hotshot, if your work here is done, best be on your way before Kristen discovers you've broken into the facility again," Dorothy says wryly.
Sugar grins, unconcerned at the prospect as Lucia puts the final touches on neatening his wild mane. "She loves having me drop by unannounced - keeps her guards on their toes."
"Oh yeah, Lucia. We need to go to The Culture Festival," Sugar stated, his hair still a messy azure, but Lucia managed to do a spiky ponytail.
"Well, duh. I mean, are there any more reasons why we need to go there?" Lucia sat beside Sugar, glancing over to see Dorothy holding a sign labeled "Kiss him!"
"Well, I got some intel from November and gossiping scientists that old man Gus is coming to The Culture Festival again," Sugar stated, causing an eyebrow to rise in Lucia.
"Most importantly, we could upgrade and enchant The Hell's Core to produce weaponry as well." Lucia, however, was over the moon by this. They might be able to upgrade The Hell's Core not just for cartridges but weapons that are fit for cartridges as well.
"Sugar." Lucia's eyes were shadowed by the ceiling light. Sugar turned to her, confused, but she grabbed his face, bringing her face close to his.
"Thank you for this information, Sugar. I want you to help me out with that part. We cannot let those things get into the hands of others." Lucia looked him in the eyes for confirmation as he nodded slowly, a blush creeping into his face.
Dorothy whistled, shaking the sign she was holding.
"I promise. Ain't letting those godforsaken things get an inch near it," Sugar stated, causing a smile on Lucia's face.
"Good. You can go now if you want to." Lucia stopped holding his face.
"Alright, I'll see you later, Lucia!" Sugar stretched his back. "Your mom said hi, by the way!" Sugar stated before slowly getting up and looking at himself in the mirror.
"I'm glad you check up on her," Lucia stated, even though he liked to monopolize and steal from others, he does visit people often.
"Oh yeah, your mom also wanted to..." A huge blush crept back onto Sugar's face as Lucia tilted her head in confusion. Sugar then got closer to her before giving a peck on the cheek.
Lucia was surprised as well, with a massive blush on her face. Both of them stood still in awkward silence before Sugar decided to book it.
"OK, IT'S BEEN FUN, LUCIA! I GOTTA GO NOW, OK, BYEEEE!" Sugar jumped through the windows as he escaped the awkward situation.
"And the ship has been charted~" Dorothy teased; they finally made a move on each other after the last 3 years.
"I..." Lucia was so shocked, she wasn't angry either. It felt nice for her. His scent smelled like her perfume. "Oh, that cheeky bastard was using mine..."
"Well, how did the post-peck-on-the-cheek moment feel?" Dorothy asked, a teasing smile creeping on her face. She's so telling her dad about this.
"It feels..." Lucia rubbed her hand against the cheek that Sugar just kissed, "Warm and nice..."
