Reacting instinctively, Mianne quickly dropped to the ground, narrowly avoiding the bookshelf as it flew over her head and crashed into the nearby wall.
Meanwhile, Sinnodal grappled with Mianne's guardian, grabbing her foot and slamming her forcefully into the ground. "You ain't going nowhere, fly flies," Sinnodal taunted as he cracked his knuckles, determined to keep the guardian at bay.
Mianne, while witnessing the clash between Sinnodal and her guardian, found herself in a desperate situation. She continued to dodge the relentless attacks from the crystalized beast, struggling to come up with a plan.
The room shook violently as the beast slammed its fist into the ground, causing Mianne to stumble around, feeling overwhelmed by the chaos unfolding before her.
As Mianne faced this dire situation, she reminded herself, 'I am not a fighter just like them.' She'd thought that her strength lay in finding peaceful solutions through words and diplomacy. Despite her reservations, she knew she had to take a chance and do her best to help.
With determination, she leaped onto the crystalized beast's arm, using it as a makeshift platform to approach its head.
Gripping her staff tightly, she chanted, "Explosion Angelique!" and unleashed a powerful white beam of energy toward the beast.
The beam struck its target, causing some visible damage, but it wasn't enough to incapacitate the monstrous creature.
In retaliation, the crystalized beast opened its mouth and unleashed a barrage of crystal missiles. Mianne, still airborne, took the full force of the attack, wincing in pain as she was bombarded. Her body began to fall from the air, and things looked dire. "Gah!"
However, Mianne's guardian, Angel, recognized the danger her master was in. With swift reflexes, she took flight, swooping in to catch Mianne just before she would have hit the ground. It was a heroic rescue, but it came at a cost.
Sinnodal, seeing the situation, wasn't about to let them escape. Charging up his right hook with red energy.
He shouted, "Teufelsfaust!" and delivered a powerful punch right to Angel's face. The force of the blow sent her crashing into a nearby wall, leaving her dazed and injured.
Mianne, now on a table, watched in anguish as Angel struggled. Her guardian had been pushed to her limits, and Sinnodal's strength was overwhelming. Mianne knew she had to act fast to turn the tide of this battle.
Mianne touches her head to see it was bleeding as well, the soul link hurt like a bitch for her.
As Angel struggled to get back on her feet, it was clear that she might have to continue the battle without her damaged helmet. Sinnodal, tauntingly, walked closer to her, a crackling energy blast forming in his hand.
"You know, for an angel, you sure are a quiet one," Sinnodal jeered, provoking Angel. She met his taunts with a fierce glare, her lance at the ready, her determination unwavering.
"Especially when your own 'master' is in trouble," Sinnodal added, pointing towards Mianne, who was trapped by the crystalized beast's massive hand, unable to move.
The crystalized beast, meanwhile, opened its mouth once more, charging a colossal blast of energy that seemed directed at Mianne. Angel desperately wanted to help her, and she dashed to get closer, away from Sinnodal.
But Sinnodal wouldn't let her escape so easily. With a malicious grin, he unleashed a devastating attack.
"Höllengranate!" he exclaimed, releasing an energy blast that exploded into a powerful detonation, engulfing the area.
The force of the explosion sent Angel hurtling back, and everything became shrouded in smoke and debris. The outcome of this intense battle remained uncertain.
The room was filled with chaos and destruction as the smoke cleared. Angel, despite enduring the powerful hit from Sinnodal's attack, emerged unscathed.
With unwavering determination, she rushed toward the crystalized beast, summoning her sword for a devastating slash.
The monstrous creature had been on the brink of unleashing another destructive beam, but Angel's swift action allowed her to lift the creature's hand off Mianne just in time. With their teamwork in perfect sync, Mianne knew it was her moment to act.
She concentrated all her remaining strength and mana into her staff, generating a massive white sphere above it.
The crystalized beast unleashed its deadly beam at Angel, who prepared to endure it. "Gambit Angélique!" Mianne cried out as she released the energy sphere.
Angel absorbed the entire blast, enveloped in a brilliant white aura. She dashed through the devastating beam and formed a colossal energy sword, slicing the beast in half.
Before it could let out a final roar of defeat, Angel unleashed a powerful energy beam that obliterated every single piece of the once-monstrous creature.
The room was left in silence, save for the burned ashes of the vanquished foe. A cartridge fell from the ashes, which Sinnodal hastily grabbed.
Mianne drained of her energy and weakened, managed a weak smile, knowing they had prevailed but also feeling the exhaustion washing over her.
Mianne, still weak and exhausted from her tremendous effort, noticed something different about the rune that had appeared in her hand. "What the..."
It was unlike James's rune; its exterior was round and encrusted with a purple crystal, with an activation button on top.
She had gained Eldritch's Medal, a mysterious and powerful artifact that held untold potential.
Angel turned her attention to Sinnodal, her guardian instincts driving her to confront the demon who had caused them so much trouble.
She spoke with determination, her eyes locked onto Sinnodal. "You're next, demon."
Sinnodal's anger flared, and he clenched his fists. He scoffed at Angel's declaration, responding with defiance. "Just because you gained a power-up from Mianne doesn't mean you will win!"
With that, Sinnodal prepared himself to face Angel once more. She charged at him, intending to slash with her sword, but Sinnodal was quick to react.
He grabbed Angel by the throat, lifting her off the ground. Sinnodal then focused his energy on his right hand, creating a swirling red aura.
As Angel struggled to break free, Sinnodal threw her into the air. With a powerful yell, he launched the energy blast, leaving a trail of destruction behind it. "Explosiver Dämonenjäger!" he shouted.
Angel managed to evade the initial attack, but Sinnodal, determined to defeat her, guided the energy blast back toward her. In her weakened state, Angel couldn't escape in time.
The energy blast collided with her, creating a massive explosion that shrouded the area in smoke.
Sinnodal watched with a smirk as the smoke clouded the air, his confidence in his victory apparent.
Angel dropped to the ground, utterly exhausted and defeated, while Mianne watched helplessly as her hope seemed to crumble before her eyes. Tears flowed down her cheeks as she felt utterly powerless.
"I give up," Mianne said, her voice heavy with despair.
Sinnodal, despite his anger and frustration, couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions at her words.
He stared at her incredulously, his voice filled with a strange blend of anger and encouragement. "That's it? Just because you're a cleric doesn't mean you have to give up when your allies have already fallen!"
Mianne looked up at Sinnodal, confusion evident in her tear-filled eyes. She didn't understand his words, and she felt lost and defeated.
Sinnodal continued, his tone growing more intense. "All I'm asking is that you fight to the end! People who run away are traitors to their fellow men!"
He wanted to motivate Mianne, to make her understand that giving up was not the answer, especially when there was still a chance to make a difference.
"The world is cruel, and sometimes fights can be resolved with words, yes," Sinnodal continued passionately. "But if you give up without even trying, then at least try for once!"
Mianne looked at Sinnodal, stunned by his sudden change in demeanor. She realized that he was trying to impart some valuable wisdom, and for the first time, she saw a glimmer of kindness from the demon.
Sinnodal tossed a bag full of mana potions toward her, offering her a way to replenish her energy.
Mianne looked at the potions, then back at Sinnodal, her eyes wide with surprise. It was the first time she had seen such an act of kindness from a demon.
With a mix of emotions, she decided to take a chance and began drinking the potion to restore her energy, determined to face the challenges ahead.
As Mianne drank the last of the mana potions Sinnodal had provided, she couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. She was both grateful for his assistance and curious about his motives.
"Why are you doing this for me?" Mianne asked, her voice filled with curiosity and confusion.
Sinnodal paused for a moment, considering his response. "Well, my boss said you have potential inside you. I don't know what he meant, but it seems like he's been wanting to help you," he explained.
Mianne couldn't help but wonder about Sinnodal's mysterious boss, but she decided to leave that question for later. With her energy replenished, she felt a renewed determination.
"I wanna hear your story, why won't you fight back for yourself?" Sinnodal was curious about why she only wanted to resolve things with her word.
"Well, I fear that I might accidentally kill someone again..." Mianne looks down at the ground, remembering that fateful day.
