It was 11:00 AM. A wagon seemed to have reached its destination as it parked at Stoneglen East Section. Cauli and Don emerged from the wagon, with Cauli immediately gazing around.
Don handed the driver the cash and led Cauli with his hand on her shoulder. "Come on, let's get you that food you wanted, Princess," Don teased, causing Cauli to pout at him.
"I am a prince, not a princess!" Cauli stated, making Don chuckle in amusement.
The town bustled with life and anticipation as Cauli and Don approached its lively streets.
The town's atmosphere was palpable, infusing the air with a sense of excitement and merriment.
Brightly colored banners fluttered overhead, their vibrant hues reflecting the spirit of the event.
It was way different from his kingdom. Sure, He liked his kingdom's nature but it doesn't have the same life as this small town does.
Cauli's eyes widened at the spectacle before him. "Wow, Don. This place is incredible."
Don grinned, his eyes alight with infectious enthusiasm. "Welcome to the heart of Stoneglen, Cauli. Let's soak in the new air and make some unforgettable memories."
They strolled through the bustling streets, their senses enticed by an array of sights, sounds, and scents.
The aroma of delectable treats wafted through the air, teasing Cauli's senses and reigniting his hunger.
"Come on, Cauli. I promised you cake, and I intend to keep that promise," Don declared with a playful glint in his eyes.
Cauli's stomach rumbled in agreement, and he followed Don to a charming bakery stall adorned with an array of tempting desserts.
The cakes were a symphony of flavors and colors, each slice a work of art.
Don turned to Cauli with a knowing grin. "So, what's your pick, Cauli?"
Cauli's eyes scanned the display, his mouth watering at the choices before him. "I'll have... the raspberry-chocolate cake."
The vendor handed them their slices, the anticipation in Cauli's eyes growing. As they found a quiet spot to savor their treats, the first bite of cake proved to be a revelation. The flavors danced on Cauli's taste buds, a harmonious blend of sweetness and richness.
Don chuckled at Cauli's expression of delight. "Good choice, Cauli?"
Cauli nodded, his mouth still full. "Mmm, this is amazing."
Cauli's eyes sparkled with delight as he polished off the strawberry lemonade cake, savoring every bite.
The sweetness of the strawberries and the tanginess of the lemon combined to create a symphony of flavors in his mouth. He let out a satisfied sigh, his taste buds thoroughly pleased.
Don couldn't help but chuckle at Cauli's enthusiasm. "You have a sweet tooth, don't you?"
Cauli grinned, his cheeks slightly flushed from the indulgence. "I can't help it, Don. These cakes are just too good."
Don raised an eyebrow playfully. "You're not planning to try every cake in the bakery, are you?"
Cauli's eyes gleamed mischievously. "Oh, you bet I am."
With that declaration, Cauli placed another order, this time for a slice of Italian Creme cake. As he dug into the desert, his eyes widened with surprise and delight.
The rich flavors of cream and nuts danced on his palate, creating a harmonious melody that made his taste buds sing.
Cauli leaned back in his chair, a satisfied grin on his face. "Wow, this one's amazing too."
Don watched in amusement as Cauli's eyes lit up with each new cake he tried.
The Italian Creme cake disappeared quickly, followed by the Chocolate Mint and Strawberry Lime cakes. Cauli's enthusiasm was infectious, and Don couldn't help but enjoy the scene.
As Cauli patted his contented stomach, Don finished paying for their extravagant cake feast. He couldn't suppress a sigh as he handed over the coins, his inner accountant wincing at the hefty price tag.
Cauli stood up, his expression one of sheer satisfaction. "Thanks for treating me to this, Don. I've never had such amazing cakes before."
Don managed a smile, though his heart ached a bit for his rapidly diminishing gold coins. "You're welcome, Cauli. I'm glad you enjoyed it."
They decided to sit down and enjoy the air for a bit. Don lifted his metal mask to read a newspaper, but Cauli couldn't see his face.
"Hmph sounds like new troublemakers are rising," Don chuckled in amusement, reading the headline of The Lucky Inquisitors' latest achievement.
Cauli, curious to see Don's face, tried to peek over the newspaper, but Don lifted it to hide.
"Come on, Don!" Cauli whined a little and attempted to look under, but Don swiftly lowered it, blocking Cauli's vision.
"I'll show you my face if you love me~" Don teased, prompting Cauli to groan.
Cauli decided to go back to his seat, determined to make Don reveal his face this time.
"Okay, Don. I love you so much, I will never leave your side," Cauli stated, crossing his arms in embarrassment at what he just said.
Don, however, didn't fall for it. "That's sarcasm, isn't it?" Don asked, chuckling at his attempt.
"No! I would never do any of that!" Cauli denied the accusations. It was silence for a bit before Cauli let out a weird noise.
"I'll take that as a yes," Don stated, making Cauli pout at him. Cauli was about to say something when he heard something.
Cauli decided to investigate, noticing a bunch of people crowding in the center of Stoneglen, cheering for something.
He seemed confused about what people were gathering for, attempting to jump up to see the commotion.
"Come on, I can't even see it!" Cauli expressed frustration, finding it challenging to witness the action over the crowd. Why did these people have to be so tall?
Don, following behind him, lifted his metal mask back on. Chuckling, he decided to help Cauli out.
Cauli suddenly felt elevated as Don lifted him to put him on his shoulder. "What?! I didn't permit you to lift me!" Cauli protested with a flustered expression, bonking Don's head.
"But now you can watch the action behind the crowd, right?" Don asked, not even flinching at the bonk.
Cauli then looked over at what was happening. It was Elizabeth and Mianne tugging at each other's hair.
"Yeah... I can watch it now!" Cauli seemed to be enjoying himself with the improved view.
