Chapter 86 - Fu of Takigakure

Flitting through the trees on the way back from the land of Fields, Fu smoothly jumped from one branch to another, a smile on her face. "Ehehee! I told you, Lucky! It's so easy to make friends with the Konoha shinobi. It always happens!" 'I know that! Didn't I tell you that Hashirama was always so nice? Konoha is always so lucky, and has lots of nice people! Did I ever tell you about that time your mom and I went and...'

As their conversation went on, the surroundings ever-so-slowly went quiet. The faint wind stopped. Even the chirping of birds, rustling of leaves, or hissing of insects couldn't be heard. Fu froze, standing on a branch. Her eyes darted about like a little dragonfly trying to find what had spooked it. "Hey, hey! You know it's not nice to hide. How are we gonna become friends if you don't come out?" 'Get ready Chomei!' 'This is so unlucky... I was just getting to the good part of my story!'

Hundreds upon hundreds of Shinobi started to appear surrounding her. On the branches and on the ground. Some even stood on the very tips of the trees! Yet, every fraction of a second more and more Shinobi appeared. "Oh... I didn't know Kumo had concealment Fuinjutsu! That's so cool! Hey, hey. It can't be that you all want to be friends with me right?" For a moment her heart dropped into her chest when they didn't respond, just continuing to gather around her.

Seeing their response, she wilted slightly before she took a deep breath. "Alright! In that case, I can only be a little rude! Excuse me, but I'm afraid I'm trying to get home, and I was always told stranger danger, and not to let this many men surround me alone!" With that said, Fu's hands clapped together as her cheeks bulged out, and yet as her chakra surged - the Jutsu didn't activate. "Uh oh. That's not good..." Her eyes flickered about looking at the newly revealed brightly glowing Fuinjutsu. "Hey, hey. Kumo definitely shouldn't have Fuinjutsu on this level! Who's helping you?" 'Chomei! I can't use Ninjutsu!' 'Then we have to give them the Lucky Seven bashing of a lifetime!'

Titanic, monstrous chakra enough to crush entire nations with just a fraction of it poured into Fu as seven titanic wings appeared behind her back. Her eyes turned from a dull orange too bright and vibrantly glowing. Her mint green hair hardened as a vibrant green chakra shroud exploded out of her! "If yodon't wantbfriends then leave!" A shockwave erupted from her as each of her seven wings splayed out, causing the nearest Kumo shinobi to fly backwards, and trees to crack. Yet, the ones on the tops of the trees began to form identical handseals. 'Uh oh. That can't be good!'

Her mouth opened, air filling her lungs, and in the next second "RAAAAAAAAAGH!" a scream echoed out, the sheer air pressure turning branches, trees, and even a younger-looking Shinobi to ash as it rushed towards the Shinobi at the top of the trees, yet the Jutsu completed first. Nearly a hundred Shinobi all completed one Jutsu at the same time - and a titanic lightning net appeared covering the tops of the trees, blocking Fu in. The scream finally reached the net which was below the Shinobi that had created it, and not even a ripple occurred. 'This doesn't look too good Fu! We won't be able to use a full transformation with that Jutsu up if even that scream didn't break it!'

A smile maintained itself on Fu's face. 'Then we just have to hope our friends will make it in time Lucky! We have to trust in them and the bonds we've forged in this war. Isn't that what Chakra was given to us for?' 'You're right Fu! So go! Fight! Survive!'

The battle commenced. It was brutal and long. She was vastly stronger, faster, more durable, and completely outclassed every single other Shinobi on the battlefield. But there were thousands of them who could rotate out when injured or tired. There were medical Shinobi. On top of the fact that Shinobi were supporting their short-ranged allies with Genjutsu and Ninjutsu. Every feasible advantage these Shinobi could have, they did. Fu could not take to the air because she would become even more of a target - and it wouldn't give her an advantage because of the net, so she could not ever truly get above her opponents.

It was a trap, one masterfully laid out. Unknown to Fu, this was when the battle of Jiraiya and Orochimaru started, and on the night when Naruko and Kurama had their talk. Her reinforcements were days away at best.

Yet, even as hours passed, and night turned to day - Fu continued fighting. The smile never left her face. 'Hey! Look, Lucky! I got another one. See, eventually they'll fall back, we might not even need our friends.' Even her thoughts were happy, yet, inside the seal, the look on Lucky Seven Chomei's face was grave, as a thought had long since crept up. Where was the reinforcement? Surely someone had sensed the fight by now, or realized something was wrong?

Days passed.

Fu's eyes were half-lidded, the vibrant glow long ago fading to a dull orange. 'Just a little... bit... more. You'll see Lucky!' The smile had gotten smaller as tears began to fall, yet she continued fighting. The number of Shinobi around her had noticeably gotten smaller, yet she was still far outnumbered, and the number of wings on her back had gone from seven to three. 'Yeah! You're... you're right Fu! They'll be coming soon, I promise! Just keep fighting. Hold on, okay?'

Fu's vision blurred for a moment as her body staggered before she managed to straighten herself. 'Alright! They're definitely coming, definitely!' Little did she realize her conviction on that matter had long since faded away, leaving only desperation. The fight continued on, her exhaustion growing more and more. From three wings to two. Then finally to one. The great titanic chakra of Chomei the Seven-Tailed Beast has long since started to flag, let alone Fu's tiny frail human body, not even having fully grown yet.

Every moment it seemed like Fu got slower and slower, her breaths fainter and fainter. It was only through sheer will she managed to keep fighting, even as her vision completely turned into a blur, her body stumbling around in its movements - she kept fighting.

A blade skewered her. Her vision turned black. 'Fu no!' The shout of agony from Chomei didn't matter, as Fu crumbled to the ground, blade through her stomach.

The remaining Kumo shinobi gathered up, before the one who had impaled her cautiously walked forward, checking to see if she was really unconscious. 'Fu you have to wake up! Please!' 'S...o tired... I think... it's time to sleep. Thanks... Lucky.' 'No! Fu! WAKE UP!'

As the Kumo Shinobi leaned down, checking her pulse he looked up. "Her pulse is weakening, she's about to di-"

A scream of unfathomable rage erupted. Every single remaining tree in the area turned to ash as nine mountain-sized golden chakra tails swept through the forest. 'Kurama! Please! HELP!'

The response Chomei got was swift. A titanic tail swiftly scooped up Fu, causing her body to sink into the golden chakra that flickered a dark red at the edges, and she was swiftly brought up to the forehead - revealing the titanic body of Chakra Kurama. Even as a half of himself - Kurama was larger than any mountain. He was larger than the other Bijuu even in this diminished state. Sinking into the forehead, Fu sunk right next to Naruko whose eyes were red and slitted, with the golden chakra with dark-red flames flickering on its border covering her, before seeping out and around her to form the Kyuubi Avatar. "Sleep Chomei. Your Jinchuriki will be fine." "Yeah! Kurama and I got this, y'know? Don't worry, Fu will be fine, and we'll kill all those Kumo Shinobi for daring to touch my lil' sis!" Two sets of voices came out of Naruko's mouth, and with those words of assurance, Chomei's great eyes inside Fu's seal shuttered close as a held-back sob finally escaped.
