"I need to say this."
I begin. I have to let it out there. They both know what I'm talking about. We've had this conversation before.
"I think Price has something to do with what's been going on. With Chris, with Lana… with all of it."
Chris's brow furrows, but he doesn't look surprised. Instead, he leans back slowly, a hint of weariness in his eyes.
"You know…"
He says, nodding to himself,
"I've had my own doubts. There's something about her, especially with her being a journalist. She asks a lot of questions and always seems to be looking for something... even when she says it's all in good faith."
Zayn looks at Chris, then at me, his mouth pressing into a hard line.
"I can't say I disagree."
He admits, his voice low.
"There's something about her that feels… calculated."
"She's very close to Lana now, too, and I can't shake the feeling she's using her somehow."
I'm encouraged by their reactions.
