I force myself to let the tears flow, my voice catching as I let out a shaky breath. The suddenness of my breakdown seems to catch both of them off guard. Price frowns, then quickly stands up, rushing to grab me a bottle of water as my crying intensifies.
"Zayn… he… saved Lana's number with a heart emoji!"
I manage between sobs,
"And I—I moved out."
The words come out broken, filled with all the frustration and sadness I've been holding back.
Through blurred eyes, I catch Price's expression. There's something off—a flicker of something almost smug underneath her supposed concern. When I look directly at her, she's wearing this practiced look of sympathy, but I swear I see the hint of a wicked smile at the corner of her lips. She was friends with Lana, after all, and it hits me that maybe, just maybe, she wouldn't mind seeing Zayn end up with Lana after everything.
I turn my focus back to Chris.
"I need to show you something, Chris."
