Suddenly, her composure crumbles, and she leans against her car, tears streaming down her face. My heart melts at the sight, and I can't help but go to her and wrap her in a comforting hug.
"It's okay, Price."
I whisper, holding her tightly.
"It's going to be okay."
We stand there for a while, her sobs gradually subsiding. Eventually, we move to the back of her car and sit on the edge, the weight of the moment settling between us.
She takes a shaky breath and looks at me with tear-filled eyes.
"I miss Chris so much, Kattie. Hearing his voice just now... it made me emotional. I can't stand not knowing what's going on with him. I feel so disconnected, so alone."
I nod, understanding the depth of her pain.
"I know, Price. It's been tough for all of us, but especially for you. Chris is doing everything he can to wrap things up there and come back to you. Zayn too."
She wipes her tears, her voice quivering.
