Chapter 5 - Turning point

I mean I said to go to the army. Yeeeeaah... Well I wanted it. I had it.

We lived in a peaceful country surrounded with peaceful countries as well. I could not enlist, since I was ill before, so yeah. If there is not an emergency, I would live a happy peaceful few years. Of course it was painful, this illness is that painful, you go blind sometimes for a second, but I could put up with it. A few years and it ends.

In highschool I had a friend. He became a high ranking officer of the military.

Ding-dong... Said the bell.

I just yelled I open it to my parents and went there.

Well... I did not do anything particular to that guy back in the day, but he and one more soldier, with a few papers and a weapon, what is unnecesarry and not normal, because you know... Like why? Also the soldier was well equipped... Too well... I froze for a second and then looked at them frowning... You see that smile with people wanting to do something only they found funny.

-How may I help sir soldiers? I asked.

-Can we come in? Just in case sign this thing, formalities you know the stuff, we heard, you learned this at university.

I signed it and looked back to my parents who were frozen.

By the time I realized I did something irresponsible and bad. Just to say myself and it is the truth, if I did not sign it, the same thing would happen, only with a few bloodstains wherever you think in my few meters radius.

So they came in and with the same smile they said cheers, long time no see and from now on they congratulate, I am officially a member of the 1st scientific survey team of the military.

Oh how happy and grateful I was.

The conversation was like: Long time no see huh I heard you are doing great and we just need people like you and since I knew you would like to be a part of our newly found organization or branch of the military, for of course a big fat letter monthly, I thought why not? Yeah I mean thank you, cheers.

Aaaand he gave me 2000 euros in cash saying, that I will see more of it.

And that was that. They took me to a car in a less than humane way in a tone no people could write down and there we were going...

Thus I became a private in the military...

I am not the one who prays a lot, I have no clue how it is properly done or can it be properly done or it just matters what you mean, but at that point I put my two hands together and yelled in myself, that if there is a God, who hears me right now hear my wish out and make me come back healthy anytime anyhow like healthy I was before to not to make my parents cry like they do now.
