Ayisha woke up in the evening.
She had new clothes.
They were made of silk of poor quality.
She had a underwear.
Her bed was made. The smell of soup filled the shack.
Her body was trembling.
It was a cold day.
"Oh, ##### woken ##."
'Ah, I see.'
Ayisha saw a tall man, he had a proeminent black beard. Both his beard and hair were full of snow and blood. It appeared that he killed his way up to the mountain.
'I wasn't able to learn the language. Tsk. Thought I was a god.'
Ayisha stared at the man.
The man somehow understood that the little girl couldn't understand him.
He tried speaking something. Trying to understand how much she can understand.
"My #### ## Lo"
She looked puzzled.
Gesticulating, it was obvious the man wanted to know how and why was a little girl, no older than 9, in a random shack up the mountains.
Ayisha tried her best.
"I am Ayisha."
"I am Ayisha."
'It seems my mind and emotions are that of a child. I fear this man. But at the same time, I think of him as a parent.'
*
It's been 2 year since.
This is Ayisha third year in Exagrum.
After 6 months of meeting the man, Ayisha somehow managed to learn the language he spoke.
His name is Lo, short for Locacius.
He is 180 centimeters (5'11") tall.
He told Ayisha about a village at the bottom of the Mountain.
*
"Mister Lo, where are you from?"
"Have I never said about the village at the bottom of the mountain or anything related to where we live?"
"Never."
"Mhm. I see. This is a humble shack I've built about 10 years ago. This mountain's name is 'Cursed Mountain.'"
*
Lo spoke of legends of the area.
He says that he built the shack in case it was needed as refuge.
After all, no man can escape the fury of another man when one discovers the cheating wife. This man's wife had an affair with Lo.
He rapidly took food for some months and his equipment and escaped to the shack.
In this world, Exagrum, there is only one continent and sixteen great kingdoms.
Lo only knew the existence of four of them, the rest were just rumours he heard when he used to be a bodyguard to some random merchant named Put.
Those were the Fairy Kingdom, the Elven Kingdom, the Dwarven Kingdom and the Lizard Kingdom.
He never spoke of the Human Kingdom.
"Why there is no Human Kingdom?"
"No human can overpower another species. The human race is the worst by far."
"Mhm."
*
Ayisha is now 11 years old.
It's been 4 years since she arrived here.
Since Lo came, it was easier to Ayisha understand how the magic works.
Apparently, the human wizards can only use magic to levitate things, such as books.
While other species, such as the fairies, are able to use magic to bring someone back from the dead.
Ayisha also learned the rumors of war between the 4 great kingdoms.
That was a opportunity she could not lose.
With a objective in mind, she asked Lo for help.
He learned of her exercises, and her miserable but prosperous tries in meditation.
Lo had a calm but unease voice. He taught things with ease, but his voice didn't.
"The universe has an ordinary flow.
It'll always do as its master says.
That, is what I learned; Just as the birds get up early to sing
It is necessary to humans do the same
The forest need to create space
The war needs death
The pain needs love
And we, the humans,
Need maturity."
Ayisha seemed to understand a little. She had forget everything.
However, there was one thing she did not.
The sky.
She never forgot what is the sky. Its stars. The sun. Astrology.
"Do you understand, Ayisha?"
"Yes, Mister Lo."
He continued.
"Maturity is something necessary for a human
It teaches the work of life
And the glorious ways of love
It is the process in which gods show their love
And how one can connect themselves with nature."
"Is that what meditation is all about? Connect oneself with nature?"
He nodded.
Ayisha tried meditating after that.
Meditation is about understand oneself.
Connecting themself with nature, the human nature.
Maybe the space. Maybe the forests. Maybe the human heart.
What is magic?
Lo said that magic is all about the species of someone.
When he talked with the fairies, they were arrogant. Naturally, their magic would also be.
The elves were conservatives. They were good defenders.
The dwarvers were arrogant, they only knew strenght and forging.
During Ayisha meditation, she suddenly remembered the tale of the old goddest of Exagrum.
'When the world came to be, the goddess walked around its many oceans.
She talked with the life the planet gave birth.
She preached morals.
She walked around until the very first kingdom was born.
That was 1400 years ago in this world calendar.'
Morals. Is morals the invention of god or the invention of the king?
Probably both.
But,
'I want to touch the stars. That's what power means.'
'Meditation is all about allowing oneself to blank their mind and see how many opportunities they've missed and how many more will open.'
'I will be a queen.'
And she understood what meditation is.
