Chapter 3 - 3: I have some explaining to do

My brother woke up, and after he ate breakfast, I told him we were going to meet my friend. It would be weird, my brother and sister being seen by my childhood friend, after hiding the truth about my life from him for years. I'm surprised he hasn't figured it out by now, he's very intelligent. Anyway, I dressed Tia as Ka ate. She now wore a small romper covered in flowers and colored white, along with some black flats, and leggings. Then, my brother threw on his blue pokemon hoodie, some black jeans, and a pair of brown boots. I grabbed his hand, and walked to the door, with Tia on my hip. I made sure I had my phone, wallet, keys, and knife. In case anyone tried to mess with us. I then walked out, locked the door to the house, and grabbed Kairos hand, making sure to look both ways before crossing the street. I had told my friend to meet me at the park. I would explain everything there as my brother played.

Good news, I made it to the park. Bad news, my friend was waiting for me, on the bench. Scowling. I kneeled I'm front of Kairos. "Go play and don't talk to strangers. No matter what they say. Stay in my line of sight, too, ok, midget?" He scowled playfully. "I know the rules and I'm not a midget!!" I just laughed, then ruffled his hair, and made sure he went to the playground area with its monkey bars and swings and slides. I joined my friend on the bench. His blonde hair gleamed in the sunlight, and a shine of anger flashed through his gray eyes, but was replaced with worry. "Spill!" He said, looking at my sister, who I was bouncing lightly on top of my knee. Even her sea-green eyes shone in the sunlight. I sighed and told him everything. Oh, his name was Josh, by the way. He's a good guy, and honestly, I still don't know how he's single. He's had so many girls gush over him-guys, too, actually-but he never returned their feelings. I swear, he's the type who doesn't fall in love with people. Anyway, I finished explaining, and he sighed deeply. He sat back. "You can't keep living like this. Don't you have another realities you can live with?" I knew I had my dad, but I didn't know who he was, or where he was, or his number, or if he was still even alive. "No, I don't. I'll move out-" "Listen to me, that's too long to wait. You're only what sixteen? You can't wait for two years! I won't have it! You pack your stuff, and come live with me, we have the extra room-" "No, I'm sorry, but I can't accept that. I appreciate it, I really do, but I'll think of something. I'll let you know when I figure it out, ok?" Josh shook his head. I knew he was mad but I needed to start living on my own. "Fine, fine, yeah. As long as I know what you're plan is." I held my hand out. "Deal." He smiled a little, and took my hand, then I went to fetch my brother. He was on the monkey bars. I told him we were going home, and Josh was hanging out with us today, which he seemed excited about after hearing this. He ran to me, grabbed my hand, and the four of us walked home.
