CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE: TRUTH OR NO TRUST
"I don't care if you don't like me" Vanessa spat out surprising the three of us. Victoria is the one that even looks more surprised
"Well, I don't have any word for that" Morayo said as she looked at Vanessa from head to toe
"... and I know, that is what you don't expect me to say" Vanessa said as she looked at Morayo with a smile about your be formed
"For goodness sake, what is that supposed to even mean?" Morayo asked confused and furious at the same time
"I just know that, you were shocked when I said" Vanessa said
"And so what?" Morayo asked as she looked at her with a raised eyebrow
"It is the truth" Vanessa said again
"What is your problem? Like... is that brain of yours actually working? How many times do you expect me to hear that? And for your information, I don't want to care at all" Morayo said as she looked away and turned to face Victoria and I before facing Vanessa again "because, I don't like you either"
"And yeah, the main reason we wanted to talk to you was for you to leave us alone. We don't care if you don't like any of us" I barged in
"What is wrong with you two? I am sure, you influenced Victoria as well" Vanessa responded as she looked at us annoyingly
"Nah, they didn't even influence me at all. I have been noticing your behavior and had been ignoring it" Victoria cut in
"For Christ's sake, what behavior? What behavior have you been noticing?" Vanessa asked confused as she looked at Victoria with a look that says, 'I didn't expect this from you'
"You are a liar and you are so hard to trust" Victoria answered without any hesitation
"After telling you guys my worst secret?" Vanessa asked as she looked pained
I am sure the only reason she is pained is because, Victoria doesn't like her and not us
Was that even the reason for this friendship? Was she trying to win Victoria? Is she a lesbian? That will be disgusting for sure
"Telling us that does not mean anything" Victoria responded as she looked away
"How are we even sure you are not lying about that?" Morayo asked as she folded her arms to her chest and looked at Vanessa
"Exactly" Victoria and I responded at the same time
"What exactly do you want me to tell you guys again so you can believe it?" Vanessa asked as she looked at us in a confused state
"I don't actually want to hear anymore" I said as I looked away and dragged my box from under the bunk
"Me two!" Morayo agreed as well
"Me three!" Victoria agreed also
"Let's remove that one and tell me what other reason" Vanessa said as she nodded her head to shift that subject away
"About not knowing John" Victoria broke in
What? Does Victoria knows that John and Vanessa knows each other? John didn't even answer me when I asked so, I am not sure if they know each other or not
Morayo and I looked at Victoria in shock at what she said
"What about that?" Vanessa said as she tried defending herself
"You lied about not knowing him" Victoria said to her
"What do you mean by that? That is the truth, I don't know him at all" Vanessa said defending herself
"Not knowing someone means you haven't spoken to the person before or you don't know anything about the person" Victoria explained to her in a lame man understanding
"I haven't done any of that" Vanessa said again defending herself
"That is a lie" Victoria said to her as she pointed at her as if annoyed
"What?!" How do you even know if I am lying or not?" Vanessa asked confused
"Are you not Vanessa Obi?" Victoria asked with an eyebrow raised
"Lol" Vanessa said with no smile at all
"Don't even answer before you lie. That mole under the bridge of your nose even makes me recognize you" Victoria said shocking Morayo and I are the same time
Is she hiding something from us as well?
"Mole? This is a birth mark" Vanessa said as if what Victoria said was an insult
"There are some moles that some people are born with so, you can as well call that a mole birth mark" Victoria said using words to support herself
"What is your point? Just hit nail on the wall as Morayo did as well" Vanessa said as she pointed at Morayo to explain what she said
"Don't ever, don't ever in your life point at me!" Morayo said to her as she shot Vanessa a glare
"Don't ever call my life!" Vanessa said furiously
"What if I do?" Morayo asked trying to start a fight
"For goodness sake, Morayo and Vanessa stop" Victoria said almost shouting furiously
"Yeah, let's finish one before you finish the other" I said
"Whatever" Morayo said eyeing Vanessa annoyingly
"Vanessa, say it to my face that, you don't know John at all that, you haven't met John before today in class!" Victoria said as she stood in front of Vanessa
"I haven't for crying out loud met John before today in your class" Vanessa said looking at Victoria in the eyes
"I knew that you would lie to my face" Victoria said as she looked away and sat on her bed "I didn't want to believe what Morayo and Floral said to me but, after what you just did, I now believe them" Victoria said as she looked at Vanessa in disappointment
"What I sha know is that I am saying the truth" Vanessa said as she shrugged. 'Sha' is a Nigerian slang used in a sentence to show maybe, disappointment and a whether or maybe one is not straight forward or whatever Nigerians used it for
"There was a time, even before you came... John and I talked about many things and part of it was disappointing mistakes"
