Chapter 6 - Mosquito? No, he was her boss!

Reylan released her hand and turned to the bleeding man, "And you, run to a hospital soon if you want to save your nose." Pointing at his nose, he added, "It looks pretty bad." Blaze nodded in agreement. If he hurried now, the doctors might be able to repair it.

Derek, still clutching his nose, shot a glare at Christina. "You'll pay for this!" He threatened, pointing a finger at his now ex-girlfriend before making a hasty exit from the lobby.

"Sure! Next time, I'll use my leg. Its kicks can celibate you!" Christina shot back, placing her hands on her waist, her voice loud enough to reach Derek as he rushed out of the company. Blaze laughed at her words, finally understanding why his brother was so keen on finding this little human.

"Ouch," Christina suddenly winced as her bruised fingers pressed against her shirt. She was high on confidence for a few seconds and failed to notice her injury. "Damn, it hurts!" She complained, blowing on her fingers.

Reylan shook his head at her antics and seized her uninjured wrist. He turned around and began to walk towards the elevator, surprising both Christina and Blaze. Startled by his action and the sudden intimacy, Christina looked at Blaze, who simply shrugged and followed them with a smile.

"Oh, I wasn't bullying him! He was harassing me, and I punched him out of defense." Christina confessed as Reylan pressed the top floor button, thinking that they might want to reprimand her for hitting Derek.

"And I must say, that punch was mind-blowing!" Blaze, standing to her left, commented with a smile as if he wasn't aware of what took over her in that situation.

"Right? I never knew this tiny fist had so much power." Christina mused with a smile, raising her fist. "I wanted to test again but…" Her chirpy voice trailed off when she unconsciously turned towards Reylan. She quickly retracted her hand and shut her mouth at his glance.

What was she even doing here? Standing between the two powerful men of her company?! The poor woman thought pursing her lips, and could only follow them out of the elevator.

"Treat her wounds!" Came the rough voice of her CEO as soon as they entered his office. He walked to the small fridge in the corner, and taking out what seemed like an energy drink can, he gulped it down as if he had been thirsty for centuries.

Yes, my dear! He had been bloodthirsty for centuries! Blaze mused in his mind, reading her expression. He glanced at Reylan, who had turned his back to them, and sighed. His brother's thirst was worsening to the point that even the slightest glimpse of blood was awakening his darkest desires.

At this rate, they probably wouldn't be able to stop him from hurting humans, shaking his chances to run for their grandfather's seat in the supernatural council. With another sigh, he left to fetch the first aid box.

"Oh, thank you! I can do it myself," Christina quickly said as Blaze returned and opened the box, sitting in front of her. He handed her the necessary items to clean her wounds, and with a grateful smile, Christina began treating her bruises.

Reylan sighed heavily, finishing the entire can in two sips. His eyes, now a calm midnight color, opened, and he turned to have a chat with the little human.

"Do you have some problem with your eyes?"

"Sorry?" Christina looked up at Reylan as he walked towards the couch and sat beside his brother.

"Can't you see things clearly, or is it just your mind?" Reylan questioned again, tapping his temple. When even his brother didn't catch his joke, he continued, "I mean, how could you live with that guy for three long years? Even a blind person could have realized he was trash."

Christina scoffed at his rude comment and shot a glare at him as he was behaving like they had some history. Even Blaze shook his head and sighed. His brother needed to learn to be polite, or at least a bit less arrogant was appreciated.

"What he meant to say is—"

"You really have bad taste in men!" Reylan cut off his brother midway, clicking his tongue in disapproval. The way he dramatically shook his head not only made Blaze sigh, but it also irked Christina, causing her to place the liquid bottle down with a thud.

"Who are you to even question that?" Christina boldly asked, ignoring that she was raising her voice against a very influential man, her boss!

"Well, darling," Reylan replied, crossing his legs, "I am the same guy whose jacket you stole this morning."

"Oh, come on! I didn't steal it!" Christina grumbled, rolling her eyes at the accusation. "I just picked it up because it was cold and—" She stopped, her mouth hanging open in shock as the realization hit her hard.

The guy she spent last night with was... her boss? What in the fiction was this?

Reylan relished in her horrified expression with a smirk, while Blaze shook his head, tired of his brother's twisted games.

"I-I can explain!" Christina stuttered, her words faltering under Reylan's amused gaze.

"Explain what? Why did you run off after taking advantage of me?" He asked, his smile now stretched into a line.

Even Blaze's eyes widened at his words this time. "Haha! He's just joking, don't mind him," he quickly intervened, trying to save the poor human from a heart attack.

Christina's mouth opened and closed a few times, unable to form words. His blatant accusations left her speechless. Even Blaze didn't expect his brother to pull out a reverse victim card. It was hilarious, but not for the faint-hearted.

"He is joking! You should head home; it's getting late," Blaze suggested, stepping in to rescue Christina. She quickly nodded and got up from the chair.

"Don't forget to return my jacket tomorrow," Reylan called out as she opened the office door and made a hasty exit.

"What the heck was that?" Blaze muttered, watching as Christina pressed the elevator button and fled.

Reylan smiled, watching the little rat escape. Getting up from his seat, he declared, "Prepare the contract. We have found your sister-in-law."

And with that, he snapped his fingers, disappearing like the air, leaving his brother dumbfounded.
