'I need mystical arts to advance my power. Potions to double my training with half of effort. A reliable and trusted mercenary group to gather resources...' he listed the things that he needed right away.
'A passive source of income...'
As Sidius was in his deep thoughts, a robotic voice wake him up, announcing his arrival at his destination— the bustling Immussillus City.
Walking along the familiar pathways, he soon reached the Giyacenth shop.
With a quick glance around, Sidius entered the shop. He plan to know if there are customers before formulating a solid business plan.
"Uncle, have there been any customers lately?" Sidius inquired while approaching a middle-aged man who was diligently fixing an A-ranked magic staff for the past two days.
His name was Nicolas, a trusted friend of Sidius's father. He had been looking after Sidius ever since his parents mysteriously disappeared five years ago.
"You're here, Sidius," the middle-aged man spoke. "There's none," he added as he focused on fixing the staff.
Curious, Sidius went to observed the man on what he's been working.
Uncle Nicolas noticed this and smiled at the young man. "I'll have this staff ready by tomorrow."
Then, the burly man showed the staff he was fixing with a satisfied smile along with a dark-looking grass with a hint of red at the tip.
"I got lucky and found a black fire grass at the raid yesterday.... But why are you here, brat? It's not weekends yet!" he asked before returning to his work.
"I'm here to do my assignment. It needs resources from my lab," Sidus answered before entering his small personal laboratory. "Just leave a note at my door if I have a customer," he added, closing the door.
The scent of aged papers and peculiar materials filled Sidius' nostrils when he stepped into the laboratory.
Though he had been here yesterday, the weight of his responsibilities seemed to stretch time and making it feel like an eternity had passed.
Fatigue was crawling into his being just seeing the familiar room.
Taking a seat on the lone chair in the room, he gazed at the empty workbench before him. It was time to put his knowledge and skills to the test. Sidius began to plan for the blueprint of his very business item.
The room was soon filled with the scratching of his pen against parchment and the sound of clicking keyboard as he carefully planned every intricate detail.
He began to analyze deeper into the market and discovered the rising trend of special weapons and consumables such as potions and pills that can enhance the power of a chosen.
However, Sidius was not an alchemist. His expertise lay in artifact refinement, so he came up with a more suitable thing that he could craft to kickstart his business.
"A gun? No, creating artifacts is beyond my level right now," he mused, dismissing the idea. "How about a consumable portable artifact?"
"Hmm... let's see."
He pondered for a moment, drawing inspiration from the consumables he knew back on Earth—first aid kits, enhanced silver bullets, and smoke grenades.
Suddenly, it struck him like a bolt of lightning.
"Wait... grenades!? That's it!" Sidius declared, a spark of excitement igniting within him.
Unbeknownst to him, this newfound direction he set forth on his bisuness journey was a creation that could potentially revolutionize the Blue Planet and etched one of his identity in the history.
It was not long before an incredible idea came up to his mind and delve into researching its long-term effects and potential to be a significant trend in the years to come.
The result of his creativity was a revolutionary portable artifact he named 'Magic Plates'. It was inspired from the mechanism of a grenade.
Similar to having a trigger like pulling the pin in the grenade, his magic plates would activate the magic circle engraved into it once infused with mana, and cause its magical effects to initiate.
The magic circles on these plates were a simplified version of their original counterparts, reducing the damage they could inflict.
Due to his vast knowledge about magic, magic circles, and cold weapons on earth, he was confident that his theory could be a success only if he meticulously redesign the magic circle into much simpler yet more stable.
Eager to bring his visionary project to life, Sidius began constructing the very first prototypes of his groundbreaking Magic Plates.
He started with the high-rank tier 1 spell 'Fire Missile' because it was the only magic spell that he knew. It is the first magic spell that he learned and he is very familiar with its magic circle.
Simplifying the magic circle is much complicated than recreating a painting. This needs a higher understanding of principles of magic- The Dao of Extreme Origin.
By fully grasping this principle can one attain manipulating part of the universe's raw mana. A very small part of this knowledge was he obtained after his enlightenment.
Moments later, Sidius finally came up with a much simpler but more stable magic circle of 'Fire Missile'.
He then began by creating the first node of the magic circle, skillfully connecting the entire design. As he looked at it now, it appeared simpler, resembling a mini version of the original magic circle he based it on.
After Sidius completed the finishing touches, he double-checked the work and carefully placed the magic circle onto a pocket plate.
To his delight, it emitted a faint glow that quickly dissipated.
'Huu... I finally finished my first project, the magic plate.' said Sidius who was proud of himself.
"This is the moment of truth. Let's see if it really works," he exclaimed with excitement.
This was his first creation after all.
He stood up and went to hide in the bathroom of the research room.
'Even if Uncle Nicolas takes care of me, I can't fully trust him right now because I didn't really see him with my father when I was young,' Sidius muttered to himself.
[User should be less cautious.]
'Tch, What do you know? I've been betrayed before,' Sidius retorted.
Upon entereting the bathroom, he checked the sturdy walls and discovered that the wall can handle the pressure of Fire Missile with its 30% original power gone.
Sidius hold the magic plate in his palm. It is beautiful small plate matched with the faint glow of magic circle on it. Injecting his raw mana into it, he threw it to the side.
There was no need for incantation because the magic spell did not originate from him.
Up in the air, the magic plate flew transformed into a fire ball halfway through its flight, hitting the corner of the bathroom.
Seeing this, he lowered his right hand to make an uppercut motion while restraining his excitement to not alert Uncle Niclas.
"Success!"
