The next course is Advanced Monstrology Skills. The professor is an instructor from the Department of Monstrology, Brigitte Geissler.
Prof Geissler is an alumnus of the Sveitmann Academy in the Department of Monstrology. After graduating, she continuing her education at Alester University for two years and became a Paranormal Biology Bachelor.
Not stopping there, Prof Geissler continued her studies at Bartford University for 3 years and earned a Magister in Applied Monstrology. After that, she went into the field to gain firsthand experience, battling and researching numerous monsters.
During this time, Prof Geissler made many contributions to the empire with her research. Several scientific papers she released were sufficient to serve as a portfolio as a lead researcher at the Ardterion Monstrology Study Center. Her contributions were enough to aid Hunters, Adventurers, Mercenaries, or Heroes in dealing with various monsters.
After her success, she returned to Sveitmann to mentor students and contribute to the academy that once nurtured her. And now, Prof Geissler has entered our class.
She is a woman with long red hair and green eyes, possessing a beautiful appearance. She wears a white lab coat over a gray shirt that shows a hint of cleavage. The black skirt she wears over the shirt is knee-length. And the slightly transparent black stockings extend into her skirt, possibly reaching her waist. She also wears black high heels.
Professor Geissler embodies the image of a sexy female lecturer. The aura of her mature femininity radiates throughout the class.
She has many admirers, especially male students. Even now, many male students are gazing at Professor Brigitte with bright smiles. But this excludes the Orc and Dwarf students. Their aesthetic of beauty differs from humans.
As for myself, well, my body naturally reacts a bit. I admit she's beautiful and resembles a non-essential character I like in games. Her beauty is even more pronounced now that it's real. And because of that, my younger brother beneath me wrinkles his brows a bit.
"This teenage body..."
I close my eyes and quickly calm myself. With the help of Arkium, I can somewhat control this natural reaction. Although it seems trivial, I really need it now.
It would be embarrassing if Miss Bahraeel next to me found out about this. Especially since she has an Identification Eye that might be able to see changes in my behavior.
And sure enough, Miss Bahraeel glances at me with a flat expression. Luckily, my younger brother is calm again and back to his hibernation. I respond to her glance with a small smile. She quickly returns her gaze ahead.
I also redirect my focus to Professor Geissler's lecture, which hasn't started yet. She is placing books on her desk. After finishing placing her books on the table, Prof Geissler prepares to start the lecture.
"Good afternoon. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Brigitte Geissler. I will be your professor for one semester in the Advanced Monstrology Skills course. I've heard information from your previous semester's professors. I hope none of you will cause trouble and endanger my practical class later with your foolish actions."
Professor Geissler looks sharply at me, followed by other students.
'Shit! Although I have a lot of monster information, I want to make a good impression on her and ask for more detailed monster information, but...'
Last semester, I, or rather Edward, caused trouble in the Basic Monstrology class. It happened during the practical class. Edward brought a Mystvage Catalyst potion that made monsters more aggressive. Edward intended to turn low-level monsters wild and fight them, thus becoming a hero who kills rampaging monsters.
But an accident occurred. The potion's effect exceeded Edward's and some classmates' abilities. Fortunately, the monsters during the Basic Monstrology practical were low-level, so the guards and instructors were able to quickly resolve the situation.
As the new Edward, I can only accept the past actions of the old Edward and redeem his mistakes by becoming better.
So I stand up and bow towards Prof Geissler from my seat.
"I assure you, I will not do anything foolish again in the future!"
Prof Geissler squints her eyes.
"I hope so. Because if you mess up again, your expulsion from the academy will be considered by the council. It doesn't matter if you're a descendant of Marquis Vallois. The academy doesn't accept students who only know how to cause trouble! So I hope you keep your own promise, Edward Kazan Vallois!"
Prof Geissler's tone sounds flat but firm. So I still stand and bow before she orders me to sit.
"Alright, Professor!"
Hearing my response, Prof Geissler sighs.
"Okay, enough. Sit back down. I will start the lecture."
I don't reply and immediately sit down. As I sit back down, I can feel Miss Bahraeel's strange gaze.
Ignoring her gaze, I focus on Prof Geissler and prepare to listen to her lecture.
"Let's start the lecture. You all already know that the type to which a monster belongs is what's filthy. And we call it Monstrum. And just like us, intelligent humanoid creatures, whether monsters or Monstrum, have attributes. That's why, besides their biology, their mana attributes determine how they live and where they live."
Prof Geissler switches the slide on her magic projector. The projection displays several monsters living in different habitats.
"For example, like the Nigrum Umbra Lupus, or commonly known as the Shadowstalker Netherwolf. Their attributes are darkness and space. Because they have the attribute of darkness, they are more active at night or in dark places. And although they have the attribute of space, their skill in space magic isn't that high. So they combine skills from each attribute. Hence the ability listed in their name, Shadowstalker. The ability to hide in limited shadow dimensions. And seemingly supported by their attributes, their fur is dark or shiny black."
Prof Geissler pauses for a moment and changes the slide.
"Supported by their biology and mana attributes, their fighting and hunting style involves sneaking in the shadows and then launching destructive attacks. Or activating dark magic, mind control. They will conjure illusions or control the minds of opponents with their howls, confusing or incapacitating opponents under mind control, and then pouncing on them. Honestly, their individual abilities aren't that strong for Champion level and above. But what makes them strong is their group dynamics. And their communication methods are quite superior, using mind magic. Therefore, Shadowstalker Netherwolves are highly cohesive in battle. This is what makes them dangerous and classified as a Class B threat."
Prof Geissler seems to have researched Shadowstalker Netherwolves deeply enough. These creatures are quite intriguing because even though there are limitations to their magic, they can utilize it in extraordinary ways.
And the lecture continues with discussions of other monsters that frequently appear and their strengths and weaknesses. I already understand the information Prof Geissler is presenting, so I just pretend to take notes.
I also don't forget to admire Prof Geissler's beauty in silence as she explains gracefully.
After two and a half hours of lecture, Prof Geissler finally concludes the class. She doesn't assign any homework on the first day, just like Prof Drows. And the final subject for today is Hero Ethics. The class will start after lunch break. I tidy up my books and put them in my bag.
"And student Edward Kazan Vallois!"
Upon hearing Prof Geissler's voice, I stop tidying my desk and look at Prof Geissler, who has stopped at the exit door. The students also pause their activities when my name is called. I have a bad feeling about this.
"Yes, Prof?" I respond.
Professor Geissler smiles kindly and opens her mouth.
"I'm very pleased that you PAYED ATTENTION to my lecture today. For your GOOD attitude, I want you to meet me after your last class."
I'm startled inwardly. My facial expression and body gestures remain as natural as usual. Thanks to my body control and mighty Arkium.
'She noticed! Damn it!'
I just give a faint smile at Prof Geissler's request and slightly bow from my seat.
"Alright, Professor!"
Professor Geissler smiles sweetly without replying to me and leaves the classroom with her books in her left hand.
Once Prof Geissler has left the class, I sigh and shake my head slightly. Then, I sit back down and tidy up my desk.
Miss Bahraeel on my right side covers her mouth gracefully, and I hear a cute giggle. Whether I like it or not, I glance in her direction. Then she speaks softly.
"You deserve it!"
Hearing that, I scratch the back of my head and chuckle awkwardly.
'Of course, she realized I was just pretending to take notes during Professor Geissler's lecture.'
I sigh again and stand up once I finish tidying my desk, ready to head to the cafeteria for lunch. And as I stand up, I notice something else. The hostile glares from the male students are directed at me.
'Seems like they're jealous because I was called by their favorite Professor. Hmmm. I guess I'll tease them a bit. Besides, teasing teenagers can be fun.'
Childish. That's what comes to mind when I think about teasing them. But, well, I also want to have a bit of fun. Of course, while also becoming better.
I clear my throat and smirk while looking at the jealous male students.
'Ahahaha, feel that! Burn your hearts with jealousy, ahahaha!'
As I laugh inwardly, I notice Miss Bahraeel's gaze from her seat. She looks puzzled.
'Tch, her Identification Eye is so annoying!'
"Ahem, well then, excuse me, Miss Bahraeel!"
I bow slightly and walk out of the classroom. At that moment, I don't realize what expression Miss Bahraeel has on her face.
