Chapter 69: Fight

Thanks to **Yana's** brute strength clearing the path and **Akane's** powerful ice magic distracting the enemy forces, **Synoh** was able to close the distance to the **Death Knight** much faster than expected. As Synoh approached, the Death Knight's dark eyes narrowed, and he sniffed the air, sensing something unsettlingly familiar in the aura around Synoh. A low growl rumbled in his chest as a realization began to dawn on him.

**Death Knight**: (muttering to himself) "This smell… this aura… it feels familiar. Not quite **Lord Fenrir**… no, no… more like… **Fel**."

Synoh's eyes widened, momentarily thrown off guard by the mention of Fel. His hand gripped the hilt of his sword tightly as he faced the Death Knight, his mind racing.

**Synoh**: (shocked) "You know about Fel?"

The Death Knight let out a cold, mocking laugh, his dark aura pulsing ominously around him.

**Death Knight**: (sneering) "Who doesn't know about that coward? The disgrace of the wolves, running away from my beloved Lord Fenrir."

Synoh's heart pounded in his chest, anger boiling just beneath the surface, but he forced himself to stay calm. He had to gather information—lashing out would get him nowhere.

**Synoh**: (calmly) "What happened to Fel? Where is he now?"

The Death Knight tilted his head, amusement flickering in his glowing eyes as he considered Synoh's question. After a brief moment of silence, he let out another laugh, filled with cruelty.

**Death Knight**: (mocking) "And why should I tell you, human?"

Synoh's jaw tightened, but he maintained his composure, knowing the Death Knight was trying to provoke him. His calm demeanor only seemed to entertain the Death Knight further.

**Death Knight**: (grinning) "Impressive. You keep your cool, even when faced with the truth. I like that about you."

The Death Knight circled Synoh slowly, his dark energy swirling menacingly as he continued to mock him.

**Death Knight**: (mockingly) "So, you must be the human that the coward Fel made a contract with, huh? How interesting. If I were to tell **Lord Fenrir** about this… oh, he'd be delighted to finally hunt you down. And if I brought you to him myself, I'd surely be rewarded—maybe even a place by his side."

The Death Knight's laughter echoed through the battlefield, causing several nearby soldiers to turn their heads, wondering what was happening. Synoh, however, remained focused, though his blood boiled at the way the Death Knight spoke of Fel. His hands clenched the hilt of his sword tighter, but his expression remained calm.

**Synoh**: (quietly) "You talk too much."

The Death Knight paused, his laughter cutting off as he studied Synoh's face. He saw the cold determination in his eyes, a burning resolve that he had underestimated.

**Death Knight**: (smirking) "Is that so? Then let's see if you can back up that calm exterior with your blade."

The tension between them thickened as the two warriors prepared for the inevitable clash. But in the back of Synoh's mind, the mention of Fel weighed heavily. The mystery of what happened to his friend would have to wait—right now, he had to face the immediate threat before him.
