The ground beneath them shook. Everyone was instantly on high alert. The joy that filled Maddison's heart vanished in the blink of an eye, replaced by fear and confusion.
"What was that?" Elias whispered.
He intuitively wrapped his arms around Maddison protectively. He recalled the feeling Maddison mentioned she had been feeling. Could this be what her gut feeling was telling her?
"It sounded like an explosion," Maddison muttered as she gripped onto Elias' arm a little tighter.
Sylvester looked over to Maddison with a look of dread. He had an earpiece in his ear, connecting him to all of the guards that were guarding the island. The ones on patrol.
"We're under attack," Maddison breathed, knowing what that look Sylvester had meant.
Her grandfather knew it too.
"Sylvester, get my granddaughter and Elias to safety at once!" Leo Salvarone yelled.
