It was truly an emotionally charged day. Leo Salvarone shook his head as he held his granddaughter's hand in his own.
"You don't have to say anything, child. If your mother were here, she would be so proud."
Maddison silently nodded as she pressed her lips together, trying to hold back tears. After chatting for a bit, Leo got up to return to the venue to take his seat, worried that he was holding up Maddison's time.
"Before you go, Grandpa. There's something I need to ask you."
"What is it?"
"I know we have not spent much time together but you're family to me and so is my father. You're both very important to me and I hope that you would both be willing to walk me down the aisle together."
Leo could not stop smiling. He thought it was all a dream. His granddaughter asked him to walk her down the aisle! How could he possibly say no?
