Sylverster's demeanor and expression didn't change at all. He gave Maddison a quick glance before turning back around to get up on his feet. Everyone was quiet. No one dared to say anything.
He didn't say a word to her, he simply wanted to leave. But Maddison wasn't about to let that happen. She grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back.
He immediately brushed her hand off and stumbled a few steps back. It was clear he had a few drinks.
"Where are you going?" Maddison asked.
"Leaving," He replied definitively.
She folded her arms, "Why are you leaving?"
He shrugged his shoulders, "What do you want me to do? Stay here and embarrass myself?"
Though he'd carefully chosen the words he spoke, Maddison sensed his vulnerability.
"Sylvester, I would like to speak to you separately, follow," She instructed him before walking back to the office.
