Chapter 5 - Quest Trials

With decently higher power, I decided to do some quests, this time with more difficulty. I explained to the person behind the counter of the Quest Shop that I had reached 6th Nascent Spirit Realm. Surprised by my incredible growth, he asked me to place my hand on a device, one to confirm if that is the truth, and two to calculate the difficulty of my tasks. I had now been given level 2 tasks on the high end, at that.

[Fight Wild beasts] [Train New Abilities and Test Them] [Force the Lock Off of the Divine Doors]

These new tasks were much more difficult than before, hopefully with more rewards. At that, I chose the training one. It was the least intensive one, after all. After adding the quest to my tablet, I wandered over to a large building. It comprised of many departments used for training and enhancing abilities of someone. The building was made out of a glass-like material that seemed to be able to turn opaque at a moments notice, probably to see whether or not someone was inside using the stations.

I talked with the receptionist saying I was here for a task. Showing her my tablet, she guided me to a room. In the room, a man sat behind a sturdy and elegant desk. He wore a friendly face and his aura was very inviting. He had black hair, blue eyes, and a pale complexion.

"I assume you're here for your task? Well, I'll go ahead and introduce myself. Harrison Dale. You can call me Mr. Dale or Harrison. I am at the peak of Golden Spirit. Nice to meet you."

"I am glad to be with you today, Harrison. My name is Lucas Grainwall and I'm at the 6th Nascent Spirit." Lucas said right after being in a daze hearing the words "peak of Golden Spirit." He hadn't met someone that powerful yet, and he could feel his domineering but friendly aura protruding into his soul.

"Well, we better not lose anymore time. Do you know any spells yet?" Harrison asked. Patiently waiting Lucas' response.

"No, I'm afraid I do not know any spells yet. I only got here in a few days." Lucas calmly said.

"Hm? You got to the 6th level of Nascent Spirit in just a few days? Usually it takes a month even for the top geniuses in the world. How can I be so sure of your statement?" Harrison's curiosity now piqued at the fact the 19 year old standing in front of him has grown at such a fast rate.

"Really? I didn't even know I was growing at fast speed. I thought it was normal. As for how I can prove this, I'm not so sure myself. All I know is that I was thrown into this world after fainting in the desert." He was very confused at this moment when his face looked entirely normal. So, Harrison couldn't tell if he was pulling his leg or not.

"If you truly are such a fast grower, let's take a look at your spell processing speed. It doesn't matter how fast you grow, it matters if you can truly utilize your abilities to its max." After a brief pause, Harrison continued, reminding him of the purpose of this visit. "I will bring you a sheet of paper, try to memorize this drawing the best you can."

Harrison slowly walks up to his desk, grabbing a simple doodle of a complex shape that seemed to outline some words inscribed. Showing this to Lucas, Harrison says, "You must picture this drawing in your mind to the best of your abilities. The slightest incorrect thinking and the spell will fail. Go ahead give it a try."

After only just 2 minutes after that, Lucas exclaims: "I'm done!"
