Chapter 76 - Allay

The rumbling made it clear.

The Parasite was on the move. Its body moved ever so slightly. It must have been agitated.

Was that the warthog's plan? But what purpose did it serve?

Ess kept his eyes on the warthog. It wasn't really a threat to him, but he kept in mind what Curse had been fearing all along since he looked into its eyes. At the very least, he had to regard it with some sort of keen mindfulness.

What had the beast shown Curse?

Why was it here?

Did it really warn Curse against moving onward unless he… they wanted to die?

The little mutant by Ess' side continued to snarl at the warthog. It must have sensed that something was off about it, same as Ess. Something ominous.

The young Ryduun stared the warthog dead in the eye, trying to glean its intent. If it was so intelligent, some of its motives would leak from it.
