It wasn't that Ess thought it impossible for Blue Spark Users to awaken tamer-esque abilities. He simply regarded Blue Spark Users strictly in terms of their personal combat skills using their Utilities. Ess had also never considered the benefit of having beasts as company that could be useful in battle. It always seemed infeasible for a Utility to tame some of the more powerful beasts to him. Beyond that, what guarantee was there that said powerful beast would remain under your control?
