Ess' true strength didn't lie in his physical abilities. Even when he reinforced himself with Fint, he didn't become as strong as the most powerful Green Spark Users in physical offense or durability.
What caused the Hired Heathens to call Ess a monster was his skill with using Fint to embolden even simple applications like Snatching. He made them look extremely complex and could use them to perform god-like feats, most of which were far more impressive than any physical show any Utility User under Threat Level 0 could pull off.
This was precisely why his little throw turned out to be such a big deal on a field saturated with powerful Fint-Using beasts and men.
The air was pulled in as the head stormed forth, spinning like a top at speeds great than sound. Yet, it devoured the distance between Ess and his target much faster.
