Ess' attention remained pinned on the buggy with the giant rodent.
Where had it gone? It couldn't have escaped his vision.
He made his buggy swerve, trying to get around the obstructions in his line of sight, but it was no use. The buggy he had seen on the rightmost side of the formation of mounts and vehicles was just… gone. Had it disappeared into the oncoming horde?
Ess frowned.
"What do you know about the buggy with a giant rat on it?" he asked Malven.
The Clean Rider was desperately holding onto the doorframe with his fingertips.
"One with a rat? I don't understand what you mean. I don't know any tamed rats," he answered while stabbing the quickly approaching units of scattered beasts which managed to squeeze past the head of the formation. Gunshots and gatling guns mounted on beasts and vehicles roared in the distance.
"Is that so?" Ess found Malven's ignorance suspicious.
