Bee skidded across the hard ground for a good three seconds before flicking herself to her feet and assuming a stable stance.
Balm gave her a mocking smirk.
"Not gonna be as easy as you thought it'd be, ey?" he said.
Bee wiped the dirt from her face and beat off the dust from her sunhat. It was a miracle that it hadn't come off her head just now; many would consider the fact that she was keeping it on for the battle even more wondrous.
'He can use his little trick from other parts of his body too?' Bee thought to herself before assuming a fighting stance. Balm flexed his fingers and cracked his neck.
To those with a decent knack for battle analysis, it became clear almost instantly that Balm hadn't expected Bee to be this competent in hand-to-hand combat. It was ironic, really. Balm was also good in close quarters, but he used his inflated appearance – with the guns and all – to divert his opponents from that truth.
