The Clean Riders had more than just wolves to act as mounts for their operations, as it turned out. As the huge gates to their base opened wide, with the noise from them acting as a form of warcry for the charge of motivated riders, many tamed Fint-using beasts let out cries, growls, and bellows.
Ess spotted several great eagles, owls, bats and sparrows mounted by Riders similarly shirtless and fond of shotguns like Malven. They whooped and yodeled as they guided their flying mounts through the sky and storm of heavy dust. They were aware enough to wear goggles.
Some of the motivated men and women rode creatures that looked a lot like bison, only with fewer furs and larger horns. Giant locusts were also used as mounts. They leaped over great distances and when they landed, the hard ground was crushed under their feet. Their riders weren't at all bothered by the bumps. They had sufficient saddles.
