There was honestly speaking no difference whether or not the Huncans attacked. If there was even a slight brush with the overlanders however it was no doubt a race to extinction no matter the direction of action. The Overlanders weren't older than the Khonrur they were in fact the youngest of the civilizations, however they were just too advanced. their intellect combined with their insane durability meant that they gained an upper hand fast, and they never slacked since the first time they received the lead.
Overlanders' ability to grow was honestly not something that should have been rationally possible.
Soon there would be a war if the overlanders' actually managed to provide support to the great powers of Huncans or Khonrur.
The ship landed smoothly and the environment was vastly different from what Khane expected to find. He thought that like his planet, plants and flowers still carried a childish charm in their culture when actually they adopted a more serene approach.
When the doors opened, Khane was met with an interesting shade of blue something which he perceived to be the most calming of all colors. It was too soothing. The location they were in was a blue bubble of some sort with beautiful beings majestically moving about.
"It's beautiful," Khane said. He was unable to control himself. This scenary was truly built to his personal satisfaction. His interest in all forms of life was very much satiated by the exotic location.
The president smiled, "The location you perceive is different to what I see," he said soothingly. "The overlanders have technology that allows for differential viewing and feel for every single being in the room. That means you can enjoy your serenity, while I can maintain my focus."
'Was this just a glimpse of what the Overlanders could achieve?' Khane thought to himself. They were not even on the same level, overlanders had long left behind the warzone that Khonrur and Huncans fought on. It was relegated as being a mere playground.
As soon as Khane finished the thought, he found himself in the presence of an entity. It didn't glitch into existence or showed any sign of arrival, it just spawned spontaneously. Khane looked at the figure now gracing them.
It was in the form of a female Khonrur, dare he say the most beautiful and mesmerizing female Khonrur ever. The features and proportions were so exceedingly perfect yet so intrinsically natural that Khane was left in a dilemma as to its existence. However not losing his calm, as if he had encountered this presence previously President greeted the entity.
"I am thankful for your message, General." He said without missing a beat as if the fact that there was nothing there a couple of moments ago was of zilch value.
"Hello President," the creature spoke. 'And hello Riel,' It telepathically greeted Khane. "Would you like anything?"
It wasn't otherworldly to communicate by telepathy, but something was ridiculously wrong, when a being who just met you could contact you, and that too using a frequency only you could communicate in. The nature of reality was different in this space. Honestly, Khane had little belief that he could be proven to be of any use.
"Only your orders General."
"Great, then we can get started on this." The general spoke revealing a new room, it was hard to say that were they teleported or just seeing an illusion. "Oh sorry, it may seem a little weird at first, but get the hang of it real fast."
The entire room shifted to a 3-D hall of information. Various artefacts, manuscripts, and records were kept there in a digital format. All containing fragments of Trucia. Matter of fact, Trucia was probably not even a mystery to them at this point.
"You are wrong Mr. Khane. Trucia is something that even we with our best equipment cannot fully understand yet." Khane was starting to freak out over their actual advancement compared to the Khonrur. "However Mr. Khane we need your help."
"Mr. President, convene the council."
"Yes, General", he immediately began calling his secretary through telepathy.
"Mr. Khane, I believe it is the first time you have entered our planet, the elderly really like your lectures, and they use it to teach babies, due to your extensive understanding on such a variety of topics, your discourses are very popular."
"General, It has been arranged, It would take about two to three hours for the Huncans to arrive, though they were a bit shocked to get such a short notice."
"Excellent job, President."
"Now Mr. Khane, please visit our planet, I am honestly wishing that you take a good understanding about the functioning of our world before you leave."
The dome collapsed and the metal holding the structure became evident, being held in place by a ridiculous number of robots from every corner. Honestly it was not possible even for Khane to accurately or even remotely guess the number of employed nanobots and possible picobots.
The fallen dome was entirely made out of nanobots. The city was visible after the dome collapsed, leaving behind a beautiful mirage of lights and pheromones. releasing the most pleasure that either of the Khonrur had ever seen. Soon many maidbots gushed out, holding a single bottle for each of the guests.
"The bottle will taste just as you like, using neuron activation, we can accurately figure out what drink would make you feel the happiest, and the bottle can accurately create or recreate that experience." The city of the Overlanders was in every sense of the word: wondrous. It was hard to describe, what exactly Khane saw due to differential viewing architecture being in place. It wasn't the fact that differential viewing made the city blue and hide some of its details using some trick or illusion. The world reacted to being watched. It was difficult to describe the city just like water, the importance of it combined with its odorless, colorless and miscibility, it just was not possible to define abnormal stuff. In here it wasn't a virtual world being run by screens, it was reality, customizable to a degree unseen before. Mortals had overpowered nature. Mortals had overpowered reality.
Out of nowhere, a sort of a card just randomly fell into Khane's pocket.
"Take it in your journey when you leave."
"Leave for where?"
At this question, the general was greatly offended, It seemed as if there was some sort of a regulation that was kept from Khane which he should have known.
Though it didn't seem to be shocked by such a violation, Khane would like to believe it was at least a little bit hurt by the president's actions, the general calmly answered: "To Trucia, to destroy the evidence."
