The room grew silent. Saturn only eyed Fenris, who closed his eyes in dismay. He could feel the grandson's tendency to glare at him so hard sores might appear on his face. The old king cleared his ear with a pinky. "My son was an idiot, but I still loved him as any parent would. I left some for myself. I wanted to see the future I allowed him to forge. After all, he married a tyrant-in-the-making."
"You keep lying to us, Grandfather." Fenris opened his eyes and gazed heavily at the old man. "Am I wrong to think you're more involved with Carleigh Neuskull than first implied?"
"Not really." Saturn scoffed as if he was being wronged with an interrogation. "You forgot something. I wouldn't be an insider if I weren't neck-deep into everything."
