"Inside Fenris's body?" Ailia gasped before pulling back sharply. However, the other person's grip was too strong. She couldn't even take more than two steps back.
Her body blazed with white fire as if tapping into what remained of her power as a sun god. That was Lufian's cue to surge cold energy to wash the flames off. Bone-like chain links shot out of Lufian's sleeve and wrapped around Ailia. Their touch marred her skin with blackish-blue marks of frostbite. Her eyes shot a terrified gaze at him, and Lufian's brutal smile only grew colder.
Still, he released Ailia and watched her stumble down to the pile of heavy chains. He moved his hand and offered it to Kanaru again. "Can't you tell what he's willing to do for you?"
"Will you let me have him back?" Kanaru asked, putting his hand on Lufian's palm. "He's been suppressing you for so long. You might be tempted to escape and live like a normal human. For that, you need to have a body."
