The howl resounded all over the place. Adeen and the other leviathans momentarily stopped and looked up to see Voshiem's image vanishing into the clouds. The king shot one bandit dead before looking in a direction. Before he could say anything, Jevit grabbed his collar.
"Dyva's gone, too! Adeen! What's going on? Didn't you promise Jevest will be the last? That thing you brought with us is killing us one by one!" Jevit shook him once. "We saw that white—"
"Idiot!" Fiat went to grab Jevit off Adeen. He held the other down. "Don't do that. I know you're devastated, but don't get yourself in trouble."
Adeen pulled on his shirt to smooth the creases Jevit made. He eyed the other leviathans, and they quickly dealt with every human around. The leviathan king walked back inside the lair and found no one. His eyes also saw the secret panel that Voshiem and Kanaru used to escape without anyone seeing them. A corner of his lips rose, but his eyes only grew sharper.
