Eann didn't know why that name came out of Sordin's mouth. That man was too known in these parts. However, it varied depending on the moment that name resounded. On one side, the man impressed Fenris so much that he received the king's star concubine. On the other, he was the man whose wife dared to take Middlemist for herself… and latterly died with her.
There should be other moments, but Eann didn't care enough to recall everything. Regardless, Sordin had no reason to emulate that man about anything.
The wagon soon reached the palace gates. Sordin got off and didn't force his entry, unlike other days. Eann didn't care, either. He was relieved that Ushka didn't have to kill him for another thing. Markovan's letters to him were too ridiculous and unappealing. It was an insult to Ushka both ways.
