It was strange. The whole day was quiet. Only the sounds of the thriving camp took over. Kanaru watched the submerged land bridges with Helion until what used to be sundown. The bird prince should have been asleep. However, he chose not to when Fenris and everyone else worked harder.
Next to them were a pair of soldiers from Markovan. They kept glancing at the concubine, who was like a real bird poking his head up and down. Kanaru was too sleepy to keep up with the watch. After all, now that he was not moving, his exhaustion caught up with him. One of the soldiers got up from the bench and picked up a blanket from the side.
"We're supposed to use this late for night watch, but Prince Burdett has worked so hard today. We should let him rest at the side." The soldier gave Helion the blanket.
"…sorry for the bother." Helion didn't speak badly toward the soldiers. He was a soldier once before he was knighted by the captain. He dared not to look down upon them.
