"You're not powerless, Fenris. I'm appealing to your kindness." Kanaru closed his eyes and smiled. He then stepped back to bow a little. "I'm going to bring Lufian to his wet nurse now. He must be hungry from all that undoing."
Fenris only nodded, and the bird prince walked briskly away to work on his own task. When Kanaru was out of sight, Ushka walked right back into the hallway as if she had been watching them. The king only stayed standing, but his eyes slid to acknowledge her with a gaze.
