It was not like Kanaru failed to move after warning everyone; the worm just targeted them. When he swerved far to the right, the worm shot in the same direction. Kanaru just dropped Melias's legs so he could wrap her in his wings. The crushing jaw banged against the metal wings, but a tooth still sliced the side of Kanaru's waist.
"Princess!" Rodnir screamed as they raced to where the worm pulled Kanaru and Melias. However, he saw how Kanaru slipped his left hand out and used his steel gauntlet. The bird prince stabbed the worm between the tooth and the gum, causing it to roar in pain.
"They're out!" One knight fired at the worm to distract it. He bought a few seconds for Kanaru and Melias to fly out of the worm's immediate reach.
