Cari never believed the strange, masked guy would turn out to be Peter.
Everything she'd observed in him screamed PETER, but she refused to believe her subconscious, and she regretted doing that.
"How was the party?" Megan asked Cari, grinning from ear to ear.
Cari drank from her coffee to avoid answering the question.
"We both know you have been avoiding this question ever since the night of the party" Megan said, her grin already wiped off.
The night of the party was just yesterday,every bad events were still fresh in Cari's memory. She drank more of her coffee.
"Okay" Megan lifted her fake eyelashes to Cari's face. "Were you able to get enough money to settle bills?"
Cari felt uncomfortable with the question. She thought about how she wasted a whole night at a crazy party and left with an empty purse, as if that was not enough, her face got revealed to her boss's uncle. Isn't that fantastic?
