Chapter 8 - Clementia

Chapter-08

Clementia

As I sat atop the carriage, gazing up at the sky, Taso materialized and took a seat beside me.

"Why didn't you appear this whole time?" I inquired.

"It's because of that old man you were with," Taso responded gravely.

"Is he alive?" I asked, concern evident in my voice.

"He is alive and well. But that old man, he's dangerous," Taso warned, his expression solemn.

"Dangerous? How?" I questioned, puzzled by Taso's assertion.

"Before I tell you that, you should know why I brought you here," Taso stated.

I braced myself, knowing that Taso was about to reveal something significant.

"The reason you are here in this world is to help me become a god," Taso declared.

"A god? But aren't you already a child of a god?" I queried, trying to make sense of Taso's words.

"I am. But about a month ago, all the gods gathered to discuss a serious matter," Taso explained.

"What was the matter? And were you lying about turning back time in my real world?" I asked, frustration creeping into my tone.

"No, I wasn't lying. A pact was made, and I can't break it even if I want to," Taso reassured. "As for the matter the gods discussed, every 1000 years, a new Supreme God is chosen. But this time, rather than voting for the candidates for Supreme God, they came up with a new plan."

"What plan?" I pressed, eager to understand.

"All of the candidates who want to become a god must choose an apostle," Taso revealed.

"Why?" I questioned, intrigued by the gods' decision.

"Because every single mid-ranking or low-ranking god wanted to become one of the Supreme gods," Taso explained.

"I can see why that would cause chaos," I remarked, nodding in understanding.

"So, all the Supreme gods proposed that every god who wanted to ascend must choose an apostle to rule this world," Taso continued.

"Does that mean I must rule this world?" I asked, feeling a weight settling upon my shoulders.

"Yes," Taso confirmed. "But don't worry, you don't have to start from scratch. Every apostle is given a territory to rule."

"Does that mean I'm already a king of a country? Which one? Where is it?" I inquired, my curiosity piqued.

"You will know soon. Have patience," Taso reassured.

As Taso finished speaking, a mist enveloped the carriage, causing trees to wither and the horses to panic.

As the mist parted, revealing her form, I couldn't help but be struck by her ethereal appearance. Her hair cascaded in shimmering waves, a striking silver that seemed to catch and reflect the faint light around us. Each strand appeared to possess a faint glow, as if lit from within by some inner luminescence.

Her eyes, a captivating shade of deep blue, held a depth that seemed to pierce through the darkness of the night. They sparkled with an otherworldly brilliance, reflecting the enigmatic nature of the mist from which she emerged. Within their azure depths, there lay a mysterious allure, drawing one in with their captivating gaze.

Her features were delicate yet defined, sculpted with an elegance that spoke of both strength and grace. High cheekbones accentuated her facial structure, while full lips held a hint of a serene smile, as if she bore secrets known only to her.

Adorned in garments that seemed to flow seamlessly with the mist, she exuded an aura of elegance and mystique. Every movement she made was fluid, as if she were a part of the very essence of the night itself.

In that moment, she stood before me like a vision from a dream, her presence commanding attention and respect. And as she spoke, her voice held a melodic quality, soft yet commanding, like the whisper of the wind through the trees.

"I am here, my lord," the woman declared, her gaze falling upon the baby.

'What? A baby? Was I wrong? That his highness is here?' Women thought, confusion clouding her mind.

'Wait, did she just call me my lord? She must be my subordinate. Maybe I should say hi,' I pondered.

"H—" I began, but then stopped myself

'Wait, if I am the king, I should play the part. If I am humble, she will think I am weak.'

Meanwhile, the woman started to stand up and looked confused.

"Who told you to stand up?" I said in an angry tone.

The woman, startled by my sudden demeanor, started to kneel again.

'How can I doubt that aura? It is him. Look at that black hair, shining even in the night, and those green eyes that hold wisdom,' the woman thought, feeling awestruck.

'Why is my tone too rough?' I wondered, feeling a pang of guilt.

"That's better. Now, lift your head and tell me your name," I commanded, playing my part as king.

"It is Clementia, my lord," Clementia replied, lifting her head obediently.
