Chereads / Concubine’s Charm / Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

It was two years ago since the Queen pulled her most elaborate prank. Word spread quickly all over the world and even to this day, some still talk about it.

The Queen had been locked into this cell until the day of her marriage, naturally, the servants were worried and had been attending to her. One of the Queen's servants, Yara, had been sent down to give the Queen her breakfast.

Despite being used to the Queen's chaotic nature, she had hoped that Arisa would stop as it only led to trouble. Sometimes, the Queen scared her. Not only her but the rest of the servants, even if they didn't speak of it, she knew most of them felt the same. What normal person would try so hard just to annoy her own Kingdom?? Yara thought to herself. Even after being punished harshly, she continued.

Yara had always known something wasn't right with her Queen. One time, she had the role of serving the Queen's meals while she was punished and hence locked in her cell. However, she came at the absolute worst time. The Queen was being punished, her arms and legs all restrained by the soldiers. The top executive was standing in front of the Queen with a stick and the other men behind, watching.

Yara wanted to run away at the moment, but her legs couldn't move. If she was terrified in this situation, how scared would Her Highness be? Yara peeked and studied the Queen's facial expressions. James was extremely frustrated, his stick was bloody from how hard he struck the Queen's back repeatedly. He had stopped to look at the Queen's face in that moment.

Yara silently gasped when she saw the Queen smiling. Her eerie smile turned into laughter and it bothered the executive even more.

'Why did you stop? Weren't we having fun?' The Queen said in between her laughter. James looked as if he couldn't take it anymore and threw his stick onto the floor. He resorted to using his fists and punched the Queen till she blacked out. Yara had already left earlier, she teared up at the sight of her Queen getting beaten. The Queen is surely crazy, smiling like that while getting hit. Yara thought to herself, feeling angry. Yara was quite exceptional in concealing her emotions but always felt hopeless whenever the Queen was involved. After all, the Queen was her only family.

...

'Yara, tell the others for me not to worry, I've calmed down now. Also...' The Queen looked embarrassed as she played around with her hands, avoiding eye-contact with her servants.

'Your highness-

'I apologize, I-I shouldn't have wrecked the palace, especially since I knew you guys would be left to clean my mess.'

Yara bowed down in respect and spoke, 'Your Highness, we are here to serve you, whatever it is, we will always be here to clean up after you.'

The Queen still felt guilty, her anger got the best of her and she had caused problems for her servants. This upset her mostly. Being locked in this cell gave the Queen plenty of time to reflect on her actions earlier and as soon as she realized what she had done, she felt nothing but shame.

'I still remember being locked in this cell for the longest time. How time flies. It's been two years since that happened.' The Queen smiled to herself.

The servant smiled in return.

'Your Highness... I was really worried for you at that time. I was so scared that maybe that time your punishment would've been more severe.'

The Queen laughed to herself, she thanked Yara for the breakfast and ate her food with a huge grin on her face. At that time, when the executive had invited Kingdoms all across the world and purposely locked the Queen's bedroom, the Queen had already decided to begin her plan.

...

The top executive could rest in peace knowing the Queen wouldn't ruin the banquet. If something were to happen... he shook his head mentally and stopped overthinking.

It was already past afternoon and it looked like things were settling down. The guests that had come representing their Kingdoms were executives, princes, and a few Kings. There were performers in the middle of the hall, dancing along to the harmonious sounds of the instruments, specially brought out by the executive for this occasion. Each guest had servants of the Moral Empire attending to each of them.

James looked towards them and saw how they were each smiling and chattering except for one guest. As expected, these guests were from The Regin Kingdom. Edward Regin was the King at the time, James was familiar with Edward's father and how much hatred they held against the Moral Empire. It was surprising enough that the Moral Empire had sent them an invitation, but even more surprising when the Regin Kingdom had accepted it. Although James had a bad feeling about this, it looked as if the King wouldn't start anything.

When all had become calm, the executive took it upon himself to deliver a warm speech to his guests. He had called for attention and the guests looked towards him. Just as James was about to begin his speech, a loud banging sound was heard. The guests were alarmed but many relaxed and laughed when they realized it was just the sounds of drums. They all looked to their left from where the executive was and saw about ten people rushing in, these people continued to play their drums loudly. Many of the guests stood up, drinking, and began to cheer. This seemed like quite a surprise for not only them but also the executive himself.

Just what the hell is going on, he thought. Once the drums stopped, the men stepped aside, and a dazzling figure was shown. This lady wore a long but beautiful red gown. Her immense beauty had most of the guests shocked, this dress seemed to hold a life of its own, glimmering as the lady walked. This outfit carried its own meaning and everyone in the room was aware of it. It was a symbol of strength, courage, and no doubt power. Many had already bowed their heads down in respect, they felt the presence of this lady deeply.

The executive hands turned into fists. He was not impressed by the Queen's sudden surprise entrance. Knowing the Queen, this wasn't the only thing she had prepared. This damn Queen! James yelled inside. He rushed forward to the Queen but was pulled back by the other guests who had swarmed over to him.

They were all questioning him, 'I thought the Queen was unwell? Is everything okay?'

James felt everyone's eyes on him but he remained calm and responded in a cool manner. 'We've prepared this dramatic welcome for the guests.'

Many of the guests were drunk and so they smiled, nodding in admiration. James had looked back towards the Queen and saw that she was already looking in his direction. She leaned her back, smiling, and winked at him.

The executive suddenly felt sick.

...

The Queen had successfully 'broken' into the party and made a quite flashing introduction for herself. That was just the beginning. She sat down and spoke with some of the guests on her side but felt someone's eyes on her. She turned and her eyes were locked with another. It was a girl, she looked around the same age as the Queen herself. Her green eyes are so pretty. The Queen thought to herself. She smiled at the girl but once the girl noticed she moved her gaze elsewhere.

The Queen smiled even more, curious, she walked towards the girl and noticed the girl was accompanied by someone else. The someone else being the King of the Regin Kingdom. King Edward was the only one who hadn't bowed down in respect towards the Queen at her flashy entrance which she never failed to notice.

'Your Majesty of the Regin Kingdom.' The Queen bowed towards him. The King looked at her and spoke. 'Quite an introduction you've made for yourself.' He smirked to himself.

Edward had solely come to this banquet to get an idea of what the Queen was like in person. However, when Edward learned the Queen fell sick, he was bored throughout the gathering. Now that the Queen had come, he felt like the banquet was becoming interesting. Truly, today I am lucky. He smiled to himself.

After that remark he said to the Queen, the King had expected the Queen, notorious for her awful temper to resort to violence. He looked up at her, feeling quite pleased with himself but stopped smiling as he noticed her eyes were looking elsewhere. The Queen was looking at the lady beside him. The King had brought three of his concubines with him at this event, the lady beside him was one of the concubines he planned to marry in the future.

'Your Highness, is there a problem?'

The Queen shrugged her shoulders and smiled. Just then, another loud sound had come again. The Queen looked even more excited.

'Finally!' The Queen exclaimed.

Arisa walked to the front of the hall and opened the main doors of the hall. Many women rushed in, surrounding the Queen. The rest of the guests stopped what they were doing and looked at the Queen. The ladies' inappropriate outfits and the way they touched the Queen so seductively were enough for the guests to guess who or to be exact where they came from. The Queen laughed as she held one of the prostitute's faces, nearing in as she kissed her soft lips.

Seeing this, the executive was beyond mad, he stumbled and fell to the ground. The ladies had swarmed all around the Queen, kissing and touching her. The Queen returned their kisses. Many of the guests, looked awkwardly and some got up to leave.

The Queen carried on and looked at the executive who was on the floor. His face went red from all the embarrassment and shame she was bringing onto the Moral Empire. He looked up to the Queen, his hands turning into fists, and saw her smiling face filled with glee and excitement.

This damn queen is crazy!!! He screamed inside.

...

Remembering this fond memory, the Queen smiled. That prank nearly costed her life but she had a fun time.
