Chapter 50 - Chapter 50" Classroom Discussions on Acting Talents"

Inside Mrs. Anderbergs' language classroom, the students ended up discussing the school play The Merchant of Venice. In particular, Tanja's role as Portia was brought to center stage as her classmates complimented her acting skills in rehearsals.

"I saw her perform. She really did that, where she becomes a lawyer to defend Antonio, scene" Wilhelm gushed.

Göran playing the part of Shylock nodded. "Well, yes, she is talented. Her dedication and intelligence beam through the character."

Mrs. Anderberg beamed with pride as she talked about her daughters' abilities. "She has had a very liking for poetry ever since she was young, and she's had a natural flair for acting. It warms my heart to think of her being able to let her talents shine in the school play."

Then it was turned over to Wilhelm and Göran speaking of what trouble they went through to put emotions and motivation for their personages in the roles of Antonio and Shylock.

"It's pretty tough to make Antonios fear and desperation at the hands of Shylock credible," Wilhelm said. ". I want my man to live on stage."

"I was so blown away, by Lenas expression of Ophelias emotions," a classmate said. "She made it seem like she actually understood what the character was going through."

Mrs. Anderberg was simply beaming with satisfaction. She commended the students for taking up such challenging roles and putting in the effort to act them onto the stage. "I commend each and every one of you for having taken up these challenging roles and putting in the effort to enact them onto the stage. Keep it up!"
