Chapter 5 - Todalo!

Plus ultra!

I am behind you. Made you look? Ha!

——————

POV Merlin

"Oh cmoon, why won't you cross test me?"

The researcher sighed, "Why do you want to be cross tested so badly anyway?"

It had been a few days since Gumiyeong had been tested. Everyday they sent a researcher to ask us about how specifically our powers worked and if we needed anything.

I, of course not wanting to bend over backwards for my captors, decided to ask for something for the specific details and my help testing my abilities.

The foundation fought back hard but gave in when they realized all I wanted was to see more and different types of magic. Even though they were wary of me they started to be more lenient. Such as actually giving me a magic book!!!

They had collected it many years ago after they raided a random chaos insurgency outpost and stored it away to be forgotten. Until now of course.

It was nothing more than the basics of how to draw your mana out and efficient ways to use it. But it was nice to have a guideline on how 'regular' mages did things. Rather than my "shove more mana at it" approach, at least until it became more costly.

And now I was asking for a cross-test with any slightly unique SCP. Such as SCP-002, the living room. Questions such as, how in the world was it alive? And was it sentient? Plagued my every day. Sometimes curiosity was a burden.

POV THE foundation.

This SCP-953-2 was proving to be troublesome, thought Dr. Kunigle. He had been assigned to work with SCP's 1812, SCP-2343, SCP-3043 SCP-3790, and SCP-953.

The one that was giving him a headache was currently drilling into his head about magic books and cross testing. Fucking teenagers.

He had already sent many letters and emails pleading for SCP-953 to be transferred to another researcher. Mysteriously none of his letters or emails ever went through.

"Oh! How about this! If you give me a list of SCPs and how the foundation thinks they work I will stop pestering you for a week?"

His demonic capture offered his salvation in a few words.

"Oooorrrr you can cross test me with… SCP-507…"

How did he know about that? The other SCP-953? No, impossible, she was never told about anything due to her… as SCP-953-2 says, 'charm speak'.

What a fucking easily manipulated by beauty teenager would say, calling her blatant manipulative behavior 'charm speak'. I was half convinced he was controlled as well, contrary to what SCP-953 says.

"That… I would have to speak to the higher ups. And also, they wouldn't be convinced if you gave no information about yourself."

SCP-953-2 pondered slightly before speaking once more, "And what would that information be?"

"How your 'mana' is made."

The boy tsked audibility. "My current working theory is that the first bit of mana is generated by the 'soul'. The 'soul' then, depending on if the amount of mana is enough, forms into a 'mana core' which is a factory for generating mana. For more information please give me another cross test of my choice."

Dammit, why couldn't this kid be a material obsessed person? A gold digger, if you will.

Actually he was a gold digger, just for magic.

Of course for the price of me answering a question for the higher ups, I now had three more, that the higher ups would NEED answered. What is the 'soul', can others become 'mages' without the 'mana core', and how is more mana generated with the mana core.

Fucking teenage mages.

"You know what? I will try for you. I will try to get you A cross test. I don't know with who or what, I just will get you A cross test."

SCP-953-2 whooped and cheered causing SCP-953 to smile brightly at her partners happiness.

The 300 year old fox woman in a relationship with a 16 year old.

(A/N I should stop emphasizing that, huh?)

POV Merlin

I was absolutely vibrating with joy. I was finally getting a cross test! My entire being was far more jumpy then usual.

Gumiyeong felt the effects of this in bed.

And my excitement was far more today, as the cross test was today! And with SCP-507 at that!

I don't know why or how they thought it was a good idea to sock me with a dimension hopper, but it happened.

"SCP-953-2 please come in."

I entered and a researcher left.

It looked like SCP-507 was sitting down in a chair with his arms crossed on a table.

Oh wait. It doesn't matter if I get cross tested with him because his powers only work in two week intervals! Fuck.

Maybe I should think through my request next time.

Hold on, why is there a copious amount of mana gathering all around his body? Is this how the dimensional shift works?

That amount of mana is at least 10- no, 20 times my own. And this could be only a day or two after his last shift! I watched with fascination as mana from SCP-343 knows where drew in.

Clearly my stares caused SCP-507 to be uncomfortable, "Uhh hello?" I woke up from my stupor and sat on the opposite side of the table.

"Hello! I am SCP-953-2, very convoluted sounding I know, but I will soon be known, hopefully, as The Mage or magician!"

His eyes lit up, "You mean you can do actual magic? Show me!"

I smiled, a like minded individual. A bit of fire lit up in my hand, lightning glowing in the other. Then I moved my hands together and formed a fire-lightning tornado.

SCP-507 nearly fell of the table in his shock. "How?"

I smiled sadly at that, "Unfortunately I cannot tell you. Because I am using that information to extort the foundation for benefits."

He frowned slightly, "You know, the foundation is kinda the only thing that is keeping the ENTIRE world from spontaneously blowing up into little bits?"

I frowned slightly deeper than him, "But also they kept my girlfriend in contaiment for decades of her life. Also I bet you didn't know this, but once two versions of yourself happened to appear in this foundation. Safe to say once they discovered both of them weren't you, one of them was dissected."

"They would never!"

"Would too."

"Wouldn't!"

"Would"

"Wou-"

I used a little mana to telekineticly keep his mouth shut. "Mhhh!" But clearly that was a bad idea on my part as reality distorted around me from the sudden influx of mana.

*POP*

—————-

Oh fuck where am I? My thoughts where spoken aloud by someone next to me. I flipped towards the direction the noise came from.

Oh yeah. SCP-507. Well I guess I just discovered how his dimension hopping happens. Gather a shit ton of mana and go SMASH. Wait. It can't be that, otherwise he wouldn't live due to the probable inter dimensional void.

"SCP-507!"

He jumped up and covered his body in fear. Before he slowly blinked open one of his eyes.

*Cough* *Cough*

"Uhhhh, SCP-953-2? Yeah! SCP-953-2!"

Oh god, he was trying to act cool. Goodness me. I hate wannabes with a passion.

"*Sigh* looks like I accidentally made us travel dimensions. Sorry about that."

SCP-507 looked shocked.

"You can do that?"

I nodded. I observed our surroundings. It looked like we ended up in a different world as there where no foundation walls surrounding us.

"Well we better get going somewhere, I want to see what this world has to offer!"

SCP-507 looked shocked. "What! You want to explore?! That is dangerous! Who knows whats out there! Man eating blades of grass, birds that cause you to commit suicide, and more!"

I waved him off. Who did he think he was with? I was Merlin Wynn! The man with the highest magic potential out there! Soon to be god on earth!

"Psh posh, your with me."

I grabbed SCP-507's arm and dragged him in the direction I was going.

"Hey!"

———————-

My excitement was starting to wear down. There had been nothing for the miles I had ran with SCP-507. But soon that changed when I spotted something in the distance, it looked like a town!

I ran fast, the sun had already set and the full moon was out. Once I got closer to the town I saw several fields and a few… slaves with masks of rotting flesh on working in the field….

But something quickly ran past in the field with the head of a person in its head.

(A/N took this from the eagar dimension hopper)

My feet lifted off the floor and I flew in the air, above the fields of wheat like things. I think I knew what was happening here, past life memories for the win.

I looked down unto fields and saw two humaniod figures in the field, one with a shotgun and one without. And with my enhanced hearing I barely heard some mumbling. "I'm… smuggled … unblessed… my… record…" said the man without the shotgun.

The other man moved his mouth up and down but I couldn't hear him before he threw flares to both sides of him and shot the other man a few times. He then proceeded to make a break for it.

The other man shouted violently and started to throw heeps of dirt on the newly forming fire, trying and failing to minimize the damage. The other worker slaves then tried to help, once again unsuccessfully.

I then followed the other man who ran away. SCP-507 screaming while being carried by me.

Eventually I slowed down and landed in front of the man. Turning around towards the man while SCP-507 plopped on the floor.

"Hello Michael."

His face, which had previously been confused morphed into a VERY confused one.

"Big fan of your Webnovel, todalo!"

"Wh-"

I left as quickly as I came. Instead grabbing SCP-507 again and flying away from Michael's sight.

Why did I do that? I wanted to see if my interaction with him would cause any visible timeline distortions so I could learn time magic. Also for the trolls.

Apparently there was no 'time distortion' so I did that for nothing.

I had long considered my life being a Webnovel. As you know, infinite realities infinite possibilities. But that didn't make what I was experiencing for me right now any less real.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a reality dedicated to worshipping me or Gumiyeong's toenails that a rabid dolphin cut off and kept in his sex dungeon full of underage albino little boys that constantly cried out for their mommies but secretly enjoyed being there.

.

.

.

What?

——————-

The creature that had tried to stop his fields from burning down ran towards where it last smelt Michael's scent. Oh yeah it couldn't see.

It ran at speeds normal humans could barely see and punched into a tree before being shot repeatedly in the face by Michael.

After it went down to the ground he ran up to the creature and repeatedly smashed in its skull in. Killing it after 15 blows.

He then disappeared in a distortion of reality I closely monitored with all of my senses.

Ahh! I understand now! Apparently the method to dimensional travel was pretty simple. All you had to do was use your mana to 'spread reality' out thinly and then poke a hole through like paper. Just on a much bigger scale then that.

I turned towards SCP-507. He was unconscious from slight oxygen deprivation, but mostly from the shock of moving at such high speeds he was unprotected and untrained for.

Currently he had gathered 3 times my amount of mana in just a few hours. He would make an amazing mana battery, if I knew how to make mana batteries.

Alright, with the Michael stuff done, lets explore a little bit more!
