As the group began to search, Nate's first instinct was to check on Gwen. His eyes scanned her from head to toe, relief washing over him as he confirmed she was unharmed. "What happened?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.
Gwen offered a small smile. "I'm not entirely sure. I was walking back to my dorm when suddenly my vision went dark. Next thing I knew, I woke up here." Her expression turned worried. "Were Varona and Chloe taken too? Is this connected to the demon contractor mission you've been working on with Jodi?"
Nate nodded grimly. "Yes, they were taken as well. Selene's father should be taking care of the contractor, but it was the demon who kidnapped you all."
Gwen considered this for a moment. "I don't think the demon intends to harm us. At least, I didn't feel like I was in any danger."
Nate's jaw clenched, anger simmering beneath the surface. "It doesn't matter what the demon's intentions are. They shouldn't have involved you at all."
