A dark look crossed Professor Alaric's face as he thought about Nate's question. "I have been looking into this for the last few months, but aside from remnants of demonic energy I have been unable to sense anything truly noteworthy."
"There is nobody else among the staff you suspect of being a demon?" Nate pressed, leaning forward.
"I can't say. Whatever demon that was summoned was likely a low-tier high-ranking demon," he replied while coughing a bit.
Nate's eyes lit up with curiosity. "You said you can't teach me about demons, but can you tell me how ranks work and why having a contract would help improve that?"
