Nate spent the next week with Ian, honing his control over his fae magic. As much as he enjoyed his time there, it was finally time for him and Jodi to head back towards the academy. Meloni gave them multiple hugs before they left, and Nate had to gently untangle himself from the arms of her purple-haired children.
As they strolled back to the academy, Nate's heart fluttered in anticipation. Suddenly, a gorgeous girl with chestnut locks leaped into his arms. Nate couldn't help but beam as he returned her embrace. Their loving embrace earned a subtle cough from Jodi. "I'll see you tomorrow in class, Nate," Jodi said before skipping away, leaving the lovebirds alone.
Gwen broke their embrace and stepped back, her sea-blue eyes shimmering with joy. She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, a soft blush spreading across her cheeks as she looked up at Nate. "I've missed you," she whispered, smiling warmly.
