The blood flowing through Nate's veins was boiling as he stood dumbstruck while Laura attempted to comfort him. He wanted to find Beth and rip her apart limb by limb until she was simply a pile of body pieces, her blood staining the ground like spilled wine. Gritting his teeth, he breathed in deeply to calm himself, the scent of old books and dust filling his nostrils. Though he had been able to kill a stage 4 cultist, that person hadn't really been trained, and most of their strength didn't come from fighting. This woman was different; Nate could feel the power difference between them deep within his bones, like an icy chill spreading through his marrow.
"I contacted father, but he isn't responding. He's likely dealing with the demon contractor," Selene said, her usually calm voice tinged with frustration as she decided the best course of action was to create a plan.
