The piercing pain ripping through Sam's body was all she could remember. Not the fact that she had just remembered something about her Dad, not the fact that she had an anxiety attack and that she had just attacked Leon. No...the pain was excruciating, spasm after spasm of it broke through her body. Sam remembered trying to push Leon off her but he wouldn't budge. He held her more tightly the more she struggled against him. Amid the pain, she faintly felt Emily's and Henry's presence as they finally arrived. And then the pain increased and she blacked out. Voices echoed through the darkness, sinister voices. The girl has it. Then we must find her before the time comes. The Herald would not be pleased. Sam came back to reality, dimly aware that she was still held by Leon. He was screaming, screaming for someone's help as he carried her through a strange hallway. Sam went in and out as the pain pulled her body apart. Everything in her body felt like it was tearing apart. Her muscles, her skeleton structure, her nervous system, and even her cells felt like huge amounts of voltage were burning them apart. Like they were splitting apart and then reforming all at the same time. Sam felt like it was only a matter of time till she exploded into nothing from the splitting and reforming. That would be good, wouldn't it? She thought. It wasn't like this was the first time she had been close to death. Twice she had faced death and twice it had rejected her. Maybe death would be preferable to this pain. Maybe she was better off-
"Leon! She has to stay in the chambers alone. You can't be here." A gentle voice said.
"I can't leave her alone." Leon's voice pushed back.
"Unless you can survive a blast of Celestial energy of these magnitudes, I suggest you get out of here." Another voice said again. This voice was different. It was deeper and rougher. There was silence and then...
"Fine," Leon said. "Just make sure she survives." Survive. She was gonna survive... That was all she had done all her life. But this pain...who could survive this pain? Who would want to keep on...
"Shhh! My darling girl. I know it hurts. I know it hurts...but you can let go, now." the gentle voice said. "You can let go of the pain.." Pain. What pain was she talking about... there was a lot of pain that Sam was feeling. She didn't want to feel it anymore. She wanted peace...she wanted the darkness to swallow her up and take her away. "Let go." Another spasm of pain but Sam didn't feel it this time. She didn't feel it because she was feeling something else. You need to face the pain...the grief and try to move on. Dr. Dingle said. Was she right? Could she...Sam..... face that pain and move on from it. Move on towards acceptance. Was she strong enough or was she still weak, the same weak little girl who could do nothing while her family was killed in front of her?
"That's it, Sam. Let it all out." the voice whispered to me. Let it all out. And she did. Sam let it all out..her anger..her pain..the sadness... And then she was struck by another blackout.

Thunder roared through the field. There was the smell of shit, followed by the smell of death, a pungent necrotic smell that made one's throat burn with acidic taste. Bodies were everywhere. Bodies that she recognized.... bodies that had followed her into this bloodbath that was known as war. There was always conflict. Always war no matter what era that passed by. And there would always be conflict as long as life persisted. For what is life without the struggle? That constant need for survival. The need to keep on persevering. And what better way to persevere than to fight? To suffer and grow and keep on living. That was what she was doing. That was what she was doing amongst the bodies of her fellow kindred. She pushed a body out of her way, her eyes landing on the first glimpse of the light. Yes...It was there. The path to her survival. She pushed against more bodies, she pushed against the smell, against the coldness, knowing that if she didn't...if she didn't, she would fall...towards the darkness below her....she would drown within it and then she would have to wait for another hundred years. So she fought with all her soul... she was tired...she wanted to give up.....but she didn't. She kept on pushing herself...towards that light...towards what would be her salvation... Darkness filled her sight, the scenery before her changed, and then there was just the darkness.
Sam could hear voices whispering, whispering about her, familiar voices mixed with strange ones. She struggled to open her eyes, for a minute she was within glaring darkness, and after a minute passed, the darkness cleared away and she woke up to the inside of what looked to be a sound chamber. The room was large, she lay on what looked to be a hospital bed. Devices were beside her, a monitor telegraphing what looked to be symbols. There was an infusion drip line stuck to her hand, pumping in a strange whitish liquid. There was a ringing noise inside her head though it was getting quiet. She looked around the room. Where was she? What happened? Sam felt like she had woken up from a long nightmare. And there was something she was supposed to remember but the memory was gone..... all she could remember was the pain. Though the pain was gone, she would never forget it. The voices whispering outside stopped and the door opened, and a strange-looking man entered the room. He was tall with silver-white hair and grey eyes, bronze skin that seemed to be framed with a strong build. What was most defining about his appearance was how youthful he looked. Younger than her. If she didn't know better, she would think that he was in the late stages of his adolescent age but there was also a feeling of him being timeless. Like the passage of time was something that didn't belong to him. That was the aura that surrounded him. He wore a long white-sleeved shirt and black pants.
"Hello, Samantha." He said. His voice sounded whimsical, a touch of mischief laid within it.
"I take it that you're Adonis," Sam said. He smiled and nodded, a faint of surprise on his face.
"It's good to see you awake, Samantha," Adonis Yesh said.
"You can just call me Sam," Sam said, trying to get the drip line out of her. "What the hell is this and what exactly is going on."
"That, Sam, is a drug designed to help your body adjust to the Awakening," Adonis said as he helped Sam take it off. He pulled one of the monitors towards himself and began to go through it.
"Awakening..what do you mean," Sam said confused.
"The Awakening of your soul core," Adonis said. "The amount of energy contained within your awakening was unlike anything I had seen...The strength of your core is astounding. Hmm Normally only Pleiadians should be able to awaken and yet..."
"Wait...You're saying too much too fast." Sam said trying to keep up with what he was saying. She couldn't understand what he was talking about...Sam had to catch her breath. Adonis sighed and pushed the monitor to her face. Her reflection was staring right at her, making her freeze. Sam's anxiety didn't want her to see her reflection but something made her look. Sam's skin was still a lighter shade of brown, though it seemed more smooth and soft. There were no blemishes or imperfections on it. What caught her attention was her hair and face. Her hair had turned from brown to bright emerald. Plus, it was also shorter than it was before. Like someone had buzzed it down. Her eyes which had been brown had turned into a shade of emerald. But what was disconcerting was the face that was staring right back at her. Sam was never one to be self-conscious about her appearance or if she was pretty enough, but the appearance that she saw made her very conscious. It was an enthralling appearance, heart-shaped with a natural full lips. It made her seem very otherworldly, so inhuman that she was put off by it.
"What..what happened to my hair..." Sam said, turning her attention to it instead.
"The awakening of your soul released too much energy..more energy than I've ever dealt with before," Adonis said, pulling the monitor away from her. "Normally one goes through the Awakening at a young age..nine or ten but you...For some reason, your awakening came late. You had a lot of excess energy that had to be released. The energy loss made you lose your hair entirely."
"I...I lost my entire hair." Sam said. But her hair looked like weeks had passed after one cut it. "How many days has it been since I lost consciousness."
"It's been more than two weeks since you lost consciousness, "Adonis said. "I have to say your recovery speed is also quite astounding." He looked astounded by the data he was reading from the monitor. "Better than Leon's by far." Two weeks. Just two weeks. Calm down, Sam. You can deal with this. You've been trained... Memories of Dad's training, when he took her camping, surfaced back to her. All those memories..all of them she had forgotten. Why? Why did she forget them? After Dad's death, she had forgotten them... But why? Wait... Had she suppressed them out of guilt? Sam expected her anxiety to return or to attack her but she felt nothing but a pit of calmness within her heart.
"So I'm just like Leo and Emily. A Pleiadian," Sam said. According to the information Leon had given her, only their kind Pleiadians could awaken.
"Yes, you've been given a Gratia by the gods. A Divine grace that marks your soul." Adonis said. He pointed to her left arm, where a silver mark was engraved within her palm. It was some kind of symbol, a handle-shaped cross with a circular loop at the top. And that wasn't the only change. The thin slit by her wrist was gone. Like it hadn't been there. Like her body had healed everything that it had deemed an imperfection during the Metamorphosis. Sam didn't know how to feel about it. "The mark is called a Celestial seal. It denotes a connection between a god and you."
"Do all Pleiadians have this seal," Sam asked.
"No. Only those who've been given Gratia have those seals. And a seal can be unique depending on what kind of god grants the blessing." Adonis said. " Your vital signs look all good. How do you feel? Is it too much, learning all these new things."
"Kind of..but I'll deal with it. I've been dealing with the bizarre since I could remember." Sam said getting up from the bed. "I take it I'm in the school."
"Well…to be honest you're no longer on Terra. But Yes, Leon brought you to the Healing center where my partner and I were able to help with your awakening," Adonis said. The last time she had been in a hospital was the incident last year on the anniversary of her Dad's death. Sam wanted to get the hell out of here. But where could she go? He just said she wasn't on earth anymore. Did that mean she had ended up in a different world? Like an isekai.
"You're free to leave the Healing Center. No need to keep staying here, though I would like to keep an eye on you for certain reasons." Adonis led Sam out of the chambers, where Leon and Emily stood outside. Leon was relaxing on the wall, his demeanor on the wall was so beautiful that Sam froze. He pulled himself off it and headed towards her. There was a strange look in his eyes as he looked at her. He took a deep breath and turned to Adonis with a glare.
"If you're done with Samantha, Phoebe said I should remind you that she's waiting in your office," Leon said to him.
"Does Sam need to join the Mystical program?" Emily said. "She has a Celestial seal like us. That means she could become a Paladin. She could work for..."
"You're quite right, Emily," Adonis interrupted her. "But I believe let's wait and give Sam a chance to catch up with everything that has happened to her." Emily nodded and gave Sam a weird look before leaving.
"What exactly do you have in mind," Sam asked. Helix smiled and patted Sam on her shoulder in a reassuring manner.
"Let's go see Phoebe," Adonis said. "Then you can learn everything there is to know about our universe. You may go, Leon."
"Fine. You and I need to talk later." Leon said. "Catch you later, Samantha." He gave Sam a look too before departing as well.
****
Sam sat in an office, a grandeur room with impressive color schemes on the wall- a mixture of green and blue that blended well with the beautiful plant pots planted everywhere. She was sipping a cup of delicious chamomile tea. Sam wasn't fond of tea but this had smelt good when Adonis had offered it. And sitting in front of her was the most beautiful woman Sam had ever seen in her life. With Red fiery hair and red burning eyes with a delicate feature that lacked any imperfection, the woman in front of Sam could only be called a Goddess. The Light within her skin seemed to be diluted purposefully by her otherwise the glow of her presence might just burn everything that was around her. She wore a silver suit with red jewelry adorned on her. A ruby necklace around her slender neck and ruby earrings pierced her ears adding to her beauty. Her desk was a mahogany large desk, with what looked like a flat panel display on the desk. The person in front of her was none other than Phoebe Yesh, the worldwide billionaire known for owning the Yesh research institute responsible for breakthroughs in science and medical technology. She was also the chancellor of Sam's University. Sam had only seen her once and that was during her Welcome ceremony at the beginning of her freshman year, and it was on video. Seeing her up close was beyond what Sam could imagine. And behind Sam going through the books on the bookshelves by the wall was Adonis. Sam quietly put the cup back on the desk and began to stare at the plant pot by the window. It was a clear sky outside, late in the afternoon. Sam should be in class right now but according to Adonis, they had altered the mind of everyone in her class to think she had attended. According to him, it was a simple effect of using a spell to manipulate the minds of humans. It had surprised her but she quickly shook it off. The existence of Magic sounds plausible with everything she had learned.
"Aha! Here it is." Adonis broke the silence, walking away from the bookshelves to stand behind Phoebe. Sam still couldn't believe that this boy...or man if she was correct...was also the owner of both her University and the Institute back on earth. Staring him over, she decided that something was strange about him. About both of them. Sam couldn't see any color coming out of them and she couldn't read their emotions. Her instinct told her that she should be wary of them.
"So Sam, I must confess, I didn't think that I would be seeing you so soon," Phoebe said. "Forgive us but after the incident last year-" So they were aware of her suicide attempt. "we kept an eye on you. When students such as yourself go through stuff like that, it usually means that they have Internal Sense or it would awaken as a result of near-death experience. But in your case, you showed none of the usual signs. But still we felt it imperative to keep an eye on you."
"Your past intrigued us cause there wasn't that much information about you in the school's medical file," Adonis said.
"I gave the school everything they needed for me to be accepted," Sam said. At least that was what Stella told her. She had helped with her college admission, especially choosing what college she had to go to.
"Your file never mentioned anything about the Incident that killed your Father," Adonis said. "And the trauma that it could cause for anyone who goes through stuff like that."
"Do you know my Father," Sam said. "Is my Father's death related to what happened to me,"
"James Sinclair of the House of Taurus," Adonis said.
"Sinclair. No, You must be wrong," Sam said. "My Family name is Mccoy,"
"It is my belief that your Father took your mother's maiden name," Adonis said. Sam tried to open her mouth, but then she closed it. That was the truth. Her Father had indeed taken her mother's last name, a name that Sam had also inherited.
"How do you know my Father," Sam said.
"Golden Dawn possess Extensive records about Offworlder who take refuge in Terra," Phoebe said. "Your Father was one of them. Like Leon and Sam, James origin trace back to the Divine Federation." Sam squeezed her fist as she learnt all this new things about her Father. Her Father was an Offworlder. Which meant he hadn't been born on Earth. He was from another planet, probably the same planet as Leon. Was this a coincidence that Sam would meet someone from the same home as her Father? And why didn't Aunt Stella tell her any of this? Did she even know? Sam thought of the herbal pill that Aunt Stella had been giving her. A pill that seems to be partially responsible in keeping her as normal as possible. She didn't miss the possibility of Aunt Stella being part of this mysterious organization.
"So you've known about me since I came to this school," Sam said. "And I take it is not a coincidence that my aunt Stella chose this school for me," Phoebe and Adonis spared a look towards each other before turning it back to Sam.
"No, it's not." Adonis said. Sam sighed upon hearing it. Sam had a difficult childhood. Memories of her childhood and teen years after her Dad's death were filled with drunken nights, blackouts, and fights with Stella. Sam wasn't proud of her behavior back then. And that was before she got on the pills that Stella had recommended to her. But if there was one thing she had been proud of abut her past, it's that she had cleaned herself up, gotten her G.E.D. and gotten accepted into Yesh University. The idea that she had only gotten in because of her Father's background...
"We didn't accept you because of your Father or your Aunt," Phoebe said. It seems she could predict what Sam was thinking. "We accepted you because of who you are, Sam. And the talent you possess."
"Talent," Sam said.
"I won't deny that your parents background played a part, but your talent is undeniable. I suspected as much after the incident from months ago." She was referring to Sam's incident from November of last year.
"You have no idea of the power you possess. Just the fact that your Internal senses was active even when sealed shows your potential." Phoebe said.
"I've heard that term before. Internal Sense" Sam said. Leon and Emily had mentioned something like that before. "What's that?"
"Internal Sense is an extension of one's Mental Force," Phoebe said. "It allows us to be more in tune with the flow and control of Od. It is the first ability that both Regular and Awakened Mystic possess."
"What's the difference between a Mystic and an Awakened one," Sam said curiously.
"Unlike a Mystic, an Awakened Mystic is one who has awakened the dormant soul core within one's soul." Adonis replied. "It is a sign of the relationship between one and the Odyllic, making it possible for an Awakened to channel Od from the Odyllic. Something a Mystic can't do."
"And what's the Odyllic," Sam said. She had so many questions that she wanted answers to.
"The Odyllic is the universe itself." Phoebe said simply.
"The Universe," Sam muttered.
"More like the Will of the Universe. The Odyllic goes by many names according to different cultures across the cosmos. Dark matter, God particles, Chi, Chakra, Reiki, and so forth. You get the gist." Phoebe said. "It is a collective and interconnective living forcefield of energy that one can use for different purposes. Every living being and non-living thing in the universe exists because of the Odyllic. Without it, there would be no life, no planets, no stars, and no suns. It exists in all of us, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the fire that gives us light and knowledge, the dirt that all races were born out of. As a result, we are all connected to that Living energy. To be Od-sensitive is to be aware of it's existence."
"And what's an Odic-force," Sam said.
"The Odic force is the spiritual power and strength one has to be able to control Od. Think of it as an Internal strength. Through that strength, we then circulate Od throughout our body to gain offensive and defensive capabilities when fighting. An example is this-'' Adonis pointed his palm at the plant pot by the window and then it shattered, breaking apart by an invisible force. It was so fast but Sam felt it. The moment he summoned his powers and channeled them through his body to break apart the pot. "The stronger one's Odic force is, the more powerful they are. Although one's strength depends on what rank their Odic force belongs to."
"What is my rank then," Sam said.
"When it comes to ranks, there are various ranks depending on whether you're an Awakened or just a Regular Mystic," Adonis said. "But that's something you can learn later. For now, all you need to know is that we, agents of Golden Dawn, and even the Paladins of Starlight, use Odic energy to kill Abominations."
"Abominations. You mean those monsters from another dimension." Sam said. "Are they connected.."
"The Abominations are Fallen entities that are cut off from using Od the way we do," Adonis said. "They are a cancer-like race that constantly feeds on Odic energy while spreading their depravity across the universe. Within them is a hunger that forces them to consume Odic energy. That's why they attack and try to invade the Physical realm. Though I have to say I'm surprised they would come here. Out of all the Known Worlds in the Physical realm, Terra isn't known for possessing a high concentration of Od. Sure, there is the Hidden World, but the spatial Barrier that separates the Mundane side from the rest should have kept Terra from the attention of any Abomination."
"Known worlds," Sam said. She licked her lips feeling the word as it came out. "There are more worlds out there." Of course there was. Father was from another planet. How many worlds were out there. How many Civilizations that were more advanced or maybe less advance than my own world?
"Yes, the Universe is a lot bigger than you can imagine. Divided into numerous regions to count. There are worlds like Terra that are not aware that they are not alone, there are Isolationist worlds that would prefer to keep to themselves, and there are worlds, thousands of them adjoined together in a coalition known as the Divine Federation. The known worlds are divided into four Quadrants like a circle. They are the Alpha, Beta, Charlie, and Delta Quadrants. The Divine Federation consists of both Alpha and Beta which possess numerous galaxies and sectors. While the Neutral Free Zones, named for their independence from the Divine Federation include Charlie and Delta quadrants. Terra is one of the few known worlds within the Neutral free zone. And then there is the unknown worlds. This area of the universe hasn't been explored due to the danger and wild nature. Together they all make up the Physical Plane. And then there is the Divine plane, the Astral plane, and of course the Infernal region-home to the Abominations." There was silence after the explanation as Sam began to digest everything Adonis had said. So the Universe was divided into planes of existence, and Terra, Planet Earth, was just one of many countless planet in existence.
"Any more questions," Phoebe asked.
"Can you explain to me what this seal means?" Sam asked. She was rubbing the part of her skin that had the seal.
"The Seal is a mark from the gods that denotes an Awakener," Adonis said. "To awaken is to walk the path towards a higher state of being." The gods. Sam remembered that there was a Divine plane that had been mentioned. The Divine plane was obviously some higher plane of existence in which the gods existed. So the gods give out this seal as a brand to those who Awaken. Then an Awakened must be some kind of special existence in the Universe.
"It is believed that only through the gods intervention can one awaken," Phoebe said. "Which is why Pleiadians are the only ones to naturally Awaken without any effort out of the Nine race."
"Why is that?" Sam said.
"Who knows why. The Pleiadians would like you to believe that because they're descended from the Celestials that they're more special than the other races." Phoebe said. "From the history we have, they might be right, as there are more Awakened Pleiadians than there are in the other races."
"You said that my Father was from this...Divine Federation. Does that mean I have more family out there," Sam said. Sam couldn't help but be curious about her Father, who he was, and what history her Family might have.
"James Sinclair," Adonis said. Sinclair. There was that name again. For some reason, Sam felt a tinge of nostalgia when she heard it. "The Sinclair family is one of the most influential families within the Federation. Your Father, James, was a powerful warrior in his own rights. The Federation believe him to be dead." Why did her Father leave his home? Why did he come to Earth? And if he was so powerful, then how did he die? Sam had so many questions that was going through her head. Questions that she was finding so difficult to ask. Phoebe seemed to notice the distraught that was happening within Sam, so she raised her hand.
"You've been through a lot, maybe we should give you time and space to contemplate what has happened so far," She said. "After you have rested, we can discuss what your future may look like." Sam wanted to say something but before she could, a loud stomping noise was coming from outside. The couple seemed to have noticed it for Adonis's face changed into a frown as the noise got closer.
"Here we go," He said. Before he could even move from behind Phoebe, the door barged open, and in came a girl with red fiery hair. Everything about the girl screamed wild and ferocious. She was adorned in what looked like red armor. Her hair was plastered with sweat and blood, at least it looked like blood to Sam. Sam quickly saw the resemblance between the girl and Phoebe. Though she had the same features as Phoebe, her eyes were silver like Adonis. But what struck Sam was the familiarity she got struck with when she saw the girl. And there was also a look of familiarity on the girl's face when her gaze fell on Sam. Sam was forced to stand up from the seat to get a better look at the girl.
"It's you...you're...You're here...You're really here...in the flesh," The girl said. She moved so fast, grabbing Sam into a tight squeezing hug.
"What the-" Sam tried to say but she was hit with the stench of the pungent blood and sweat on the girl.
"Emanu, that's enough," Adonis said. He appeared, pulling the girl away from Sam, who tried to reset her bearing. There were some blood stains on the grey shirt that she was wearing.
"But Father..."
"It's not her. Remember that," He whispered to her. Even though he whispered it, with Sam's sensitivity to her now awakened Internal sense, she was able to hear what he whispered. What does he mean, it's not her. Sam thought. Emanu's expression was strange before it changed quickly and she turned her face toward Sam. The feeling of familiarity was gone, and Sam couldn't help the trippiness that she felt. Everything was so confusing.
"Emanu! What did I say about cleaning up after a mission," Phoebe said standing up from her seat.
"Sorry, mother. I just wanted to see our new guest," Emanu said with a light grin.
"Huh, why don't we do this? Samantha here is tired and could use some rest. Emanu, why don't you show her to the Dorms," Phoebe said.
"Sure, Why not? If Samantha doesn't mind." Emanu said. "You don't mind, do you, Sam."
"No..No of course not," Sam said.
"Well, that's good," Phoebe said. She moved with so much grace, away from her desk towards Sam. With her hand on Sam's back, she led both Sam and Emanu to the door. "Samantha, we will speak later about what lies ahead. For now, rest and we will see each other later."
"Ok," Sam said.
"You coming, Samantha," Emanu said. She was already outside the office, in the hallway waiting for Sam. Sam took one last look inside the office, where Adonis stood, his silver eyes fixed on Sam. Sam hadn't noticed it, because before she hadn't paid attention. But there was something about those eyes. Those silver eyes. She couldn't help but feel that those eyes were hiding something deep and ancient.
"I'm coming," Sam said.
****
"You should take it easy with Emanu," Phoebe said. She was looking through various files on the monitor on her desk. The files had to do with the investigation that Rosa had done on Dr. Dingles' death. There were a lot of things that didn't make sense about her death. And now there was the situation with Samantha Sinclair.
"She knows not to put her expectations on a stranger," Adonis said. He stood by the window, staring out beyond the pale blue sky.
"Is Sam a stranger," Phoebe said.
"She is. At least this version is." Adonis said. "We can't let nostalgia impede our decision."
"You don't think she's strong enough," Phoebe said. She looked away from the monitor turning it off. "You think she's weak. Mentally"
"She's been through so much," Adonis said. His mind flashed back to last year when he had gotten the alert about her suicide. He hadn't gone to see Samantha as anything that had to do with Terra was left to his wife. Terra was her territory and she was quite territorial. But that didn't mean a little distance was enough to stop him from observing the state that Samantha had been in. He knew well that the girl had still not recovered from her trauma. From surviving while her Father, James Sinclair had not. "I don't believe she can survive what is to come."
"And yet you wasted so much probability to intervene on her behalf," Phoebe said. "We're already invested in her. Perhaps we should see if this time things will be different."
"You truly believe that she can do it," Adonis said. "That this time won't be different than the last."
"The other sides believe she can," Phoebe said. "Vysileaf seems so sure she's already begun making her move." Adonis sighed thinking about Vysileaf. That crazy witch would burn the universe just to make her goal come true. Adonis moved away from the window towards the pole where his coat hung. He took his coat and wore it, taking out of its pocket a pocket watch.
"You're leaving already," Phoebe said.
"Yes, I shouldn't keep the Admiral waiting," Adonis said.
"I take it the situation in Lamentias is bad," Phoebe said. "Are you going to intervene or..."
"There is no changing Lamentias's fate," Adonis said. "All we can do is help save as many lives as we can. Keep an eye on the girl. Her mind is more fragile than it may seem."
"I'll make sure to do just that," Phoebe said with a smile.
