"Lu Lu!" shouted Charity excitedly.
"Charity" Lucy greeted with much less enthusiasm.
"What's wrong Lu? I know you hate Mondays but not enough that it brings down your mood."
"I forgot to do my science paper for Mr. Plamer's class." She muttered with a sigh.
"So? You never do his assignments. What are you worrying about?" Charity looked at the girl in confusion. From the time she met Lucy she had barely done assignments but somehow got good grades.
"Dad is home"
"Oh...well...you're dead"
"At least if I do get a good ol' beating instead it won't show. That'd be much better than dying."
"Come on. There's no point in crying over spilt milk" Lucy dragged her friend into the school with a miniature smile on her face.
The time finally came where she had to face Mr. Palmer. All was well until Skinny Legs decided to tell him that Lucy had not given up her paper. Thinking about how she'd beat him up soon, the girl felt a strange sense of peace.
"Ms.Window where is your assignment?" Asked the taceher.
Just as he said that, all logical excuses left Lucy's brain. She slowly stood up with a nervous chuckle.
The class was silent with students giving them their undivided attention.
"Well you see sir my uncle-in-law's wife's sister's dog ate the paper" she muttered.
The whole class looked at her as if she was an idiot.
"Is that so?" Mr. Palmer raised his brows and leaned back in his chair.
"Very so sir" The girl hastily nodded her head.
"They came to visit with their husky, a cute little thing he is. Brown hair, blue eyes, white coat with a grayish tint, the fluffiest fur too. You'd like him if you met him I bet. He's got white canines, only eats meat and weird tasting dog food, of course I never ate any-" At this point she was full on rapping.
"Ms. Window-"
"Mom doesn't like him because she's afraid of dogs but da-"
"Ms. Window!" Mr. Palmer held his nose bridge looking fed up with the teen before him.
"The boys and I take him out to play most of the time. Also-"
"LUCY WINDOW!"
"What man?! What?! Can't you see I'm talking here?! I swear to God if I weren't in school and afraid of my mom whipping me I'd beat you up clean clean clean..."
"Just stop talking" The middle aged man looked like he was one step away from quitting his job.
"Sir yes sir! If I may give an excuse it's the black in me" Lucy was about to cry because she knew full well that her parents were going to kill her.
"Go to the principal's office right this instant. I'm going to call your parents."
Lucy begrudgingly dragged herself out of the classroom looking pitiful. The sound of laughing and loud talking was heard from room 104 following her departure.
