The battle atop Mount Meru intensified as waves of demons and their vile masters desperately tried to break Kent's defenses. The summit glowed with the radiant flames of the ritual fire, stood like a celestial fortress protected by Kent, his loyal beasts, and the unyielding arrow roof.
Demon kings gathered above the arrow roof. They tipped massive vessels of blood over the arrow roof. They expected the crimson torrent to seep through gaps between the arrows and taint the sacred mountaintop.
But to their horror, the blood flowed smoothly off the roof, as though it was cast off by an invisible force. Like rainwater sliding down polished glass, it drained all around arrow roof and blood drained like a circular fountain around the edges of Meru mountain. Not a single drop reached the sacred ground below.
