Chapter 4 - 4: Running From the Past

You didn't answer, and stopped folding the napkin, trying very hard not to growl in annoyance or do anything to give away what you felt. The boys seemed nice, you thought, but you just met them. They'd have to earn your trust in order for you to tell them more about yourself. You told them about your personality instead. How you could be funny and sarcastic. Shy but then yet outgoing. How you could be an extrovert one minute and introvert the next. "Ah, I can see it." RM muttered, nodding. "Y/n." Jin, who sat right next to you, took your hand in a brother-like, comforting way. He looked at you, his eyes full of concern, worry, anything related to those emotions. "Are you ok?" You didn't answer immediately. "Are you ok?" You finally smiled and cheered up. "Yeah, I'm better than ok. I'm great! I got to meet you all, and figure out that I love to sing-" "But did you learn that you're dance moves need some work?" Everyone laughed, even you. You knew your dancing needed some work. Thankfully, the waiter came back with the drinks. Jin didn't let go of your hand, though, and you knew that he knew you weren't feeling great. The others wanted to learn more about you. And that included your past. The one thing you would never talk about. The one thing no one knew. The one thing that had been killing you as you grew up. It was touchy. But you tried to have a good time. You finished folding the napkin tiger, and passed it to V, who placed it, with care, to the side. Jungkook did the same with his little bunny. The waiter came back, and you ordered a salad, something light on the stomach. You weren't too hungry, and didn't want to upset you're stomach. Then you and the boys talked some more. Jin didn't ever let go, and you knew he would ask about it later, and you would probably open up to him. But, for now, you put that out of your mind. With one hand, you reached into your minibackpack, and brought out your wallet to at least pay for your meal. But Jhope took the wallet and your bag, shoved the wallet in the bag, and said, "No, let us pay. We are celebrating you tonight, after all." You tried to reason with him. "Which is why I-" "Don't. You can't reason with him. Trust me." Suga said, shaking his head. You rolled your eyes playfully, but didn't try to argue. Suga had more expirence with the members than you. The food came, and while everyone else was eating and talking, Jin whispered to you, "You'll tell me what's wrong later." And you knew it was true. You sensed that Jin was very caring, and from the videos of concerts you had watched last night while researching, you knew he was the one who helped the team through anything.

(TW, drugs, suicide, depresion. You have been warned!) Everyone had eaten, and now, for another idea of celebrating, but by yourself this time, you figured it wouldn't hurt to get out the old clay wheel once you got home. But you never went home. You, somehow, had been invited to a sleepover, which you couldn't refuse. And Jin still held onto your hand as you entered the van with him to wait for the others. He sat down next to you, and said, "Spill." So you did. Softly. Even though the driver was taking a pee break. You told Jin how you're mother had passed after you were born. You told him how you're father had been a drug addict. How you had been an only child. And, later, turned into an orphan after your father took his own life with an overdose. You weren't crying by the end, thankfully, but you didn't feel good either. You hates to reopen old wounds, and you tried to not tell anyone, but you could sense Jin was the type of person who wouldn't let you suffer alone, who wouldn't let you be depressed. The kind who wouldn't let you cry, the kind who would be there when you needed him. He gave you a small hug, but took his arm back when the door opened, and the others all climbed in. "Should we stop by Y/n's place so she can get her clothes?" "No, I'll sleep in this. But I appreciate the thought." You answered, staring out the window. You checked your phone. "Its already nine. We should really be heading back." So, everyone agreed. And the driver came back to take you to the boy's home.
