"Heretics are the luckiest of them all… You have the privilege of… dying by her graceful touch… by the Emerald Maiden's lovely kiss!"
Gofumina heard the man speak as he dropped the dismembered body of another of the goblins of her team.
"A-Aaah…!"
The girl didn't know any of these goblins for longer than a day, though, but they were still her team, and she was responsible for their well-being. They weren't her friends, but maybe they could've been one day.
"Haah… Haahh… Haahh…"
Gofumina tried to remain calm, but the weight of despair and that she had failed these men and women made her quickly feel horrible. She was hyperventilating, gasping for air very loudly, feeling like the world would crumble over her.
The cultists seemed to relish her suffering, glaring at her from afar for a moment, in silence.
"N-No, no, no! Guys! Shit… fuck!"
She screamed, hitting the ground in anger and despair, despite knowing this was a game; she couldn't help but feel like they were real to her.
Everything was so realistic; it was hard to distinguish this from just a parallel world. Even more with her, who had immersed herself so much in this world.
"You are next."
"Are you prepared?"
"Your despair… feeds her well."
"Please, die agonizingly, and despair as much as possible. That is the Emerald Maiden's favorite meal after all."
The four Emerald Knights slowly walked towards Gofumina, their swords overflowing with green auras. They didn't even flinch after they saw one of their own dead behind Gofumina, though, unlike the goblin girl, they didn't care about their own members deaths.
Gofumina forced herself to calm down, cooling down her mind and glaring at the knights approaching her, her eyebrows furrowing as she expressed a face of pure and utter hatred.
"You fuckers will pay for this!" Gofumina quickly ran away from there, rushing towards her victim's body and storing it inside her inventory instantly.
The armor and the weapon he held were then quickly analyzed by her as she ran, learning a bit about their origins, although she only felt more confused.
"Emerald Maiden's Knight Sword of Corrosion? Emerald Maiden Cult Guardian Armor? Who are these bastards? I am fairly sure that the commander said that the Dark Forest was inhabited!" She gritted her teeth as she read all of this and then realized they were catching up with her. "I can't outrun them for long! The only option is… Ugh! Do I have to?! Fucking hell!"
Although she lamented it and even regretted it, she didn't hesitate, running straight towards the group of Dark Spirits, and then glared at the Vampire Prince from below; his blazing sword was still cutting through many foes, and the Dark Spirits grew wings and chased him in the skies after all.
"SOMEONE HELP! PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP MEEEE!"
She screamed.
Indeed, this was her masterful plan!
To scream as loudly as possible and ask for the help of the Vampire Prince.
She knew he had a kind heart and wasn't like other Players to an extent, the only man she could ever request help from without thinking he would backstab her one day!
However, Vlad, who was concentrating on training his swordsmanship, didn't hear her at first, focused on his battle. Gofumina realized slightly too late, but the Vampire Prince wasn't even looking in her direction.
But someone else did, a much gentler gaze than that of Vlad, notice Gofumina and the strange men chasing her.
"Huh? A goblin?"
Emerlinda glanced down below, noticing four emerald knights walking towards the goblin girl, carrying huge swords with them. Their steps became faster until they started to run after her!
"W-Who are those people?!"
She panicked, quickly glancing at Vlad and Chris, who were too busy; she gripped her fists, rushing down on her own.
"Huh? Emerlinda?"
Camilla, in the distance, quickly followed her from afar. Gofumina noticed someone was coming, as she quickly glared at the knights, pointing her huge blade at them.
"Don't you dare take another step!" She roared, suddenly taking out the sword and the armor from her inventory and… equipping it!
FLASH!
"Hmm?!"
"What are you…?!"
"Impossible!"
"Don't you dare!"
The four Emerald Knights grew furious the moment they saw the goblin girl wearing their armor and even wielding their sword. Gofumina instantly felt a huge stat boost and large quantities of Arcana being given to her.
"This armor's amazing, even if a bit damaged…!" She thought. "And this blade is also amazing; I'll be using this happily!"
She felt the power flowing through her as she quickly confronted the Emerald Knights while waiting for reinforcements!
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
Four swordsmanship attacks hit her at once: spiraling slashes, downward slashes, upward slashes, and vertical slashes, each slashing attack releasing waves of green aura resembling acid.
"Hmph!"
Gofumina used the armor she had received to reflect the acid and then swung her giant sword forward, cutting through the Emerald Knight in front of her!
CRAAASH!
However, she couldn't kill him quite yet, as the bastard resisted and stood back up like nothing, pointing his sword at her, and then.
"You've become too cocky believing the armor and the blade would obey you, foolish invader!"
He swung his blade forward, downward, upward, vertically, and horizontally, unleashing a cross-shaped attack!
BOOOOMM!!
"Uaagh!"
Gofumina, who tried to fiercely attack them back, was quickly pushed away, as the explosive blow further broke the armor, leaking some strange green smoke that encompassed her body.
"U-uuggh… W-What was that? Ah… AARGH!"
However, as the smoke encompassed her, she suddenly felt immense pain through her entire body, a strange, alien presence trying to curse her and to devour her very lifeforce and soul with it!
"Hey! A-Are you alright?!"
Emerlinda's voice echoed from afar as she saw the goblin girl convulsing in agony while bleeding from her eyes, nose, ears, and mouth.
"Uwaah! W-What's going on?! Why did you do this to her?"
Emerlinda quickly ran in front of the goblin girl, glaring at the four knights in front of her, holding her spear tightly, her aura slowly growing stronger.
"A Wood Elf?"
"A rare face indeed…."
"But the Emerald Maiden would accept just about anything."
"She is not picky about her meals!"
They talked nonsense, charging against Emerlinda at once!
