When I returned to Earth, the first thing I did was go to Antarctica, where I had a small warehouse of various metals that I found in space when I also offered to resell them to the Ghost. All the metal in this place is needed in order to give them away in batches, and not all at once, otherwise you can collapse the market, thereby causing the collapse of the economy. And I still have to live here, so I can't let that happen, and I don't need money anymore. I have already found a place where I can teach and use my knowledge to create something. And also the good documents that Xavier promised to get and I don't think he will deceive me. Well, if he cheats, it's not a big loss. I can leave this place at any time, in any case, no one can stop me. Probably, as soon as this batch of ordinary and non-ferrous metals is over, I will stop trading them because they are unnecessary. Xavier is almost a billionaire and it is clear that he did not stint on the construction of not only the mansion, but also on the laboratory. Especially that rather large room with a device I don't understand. I've been there before and tried to figure out what kind of thing it was that resembled an unusual helmet with different tubes attached to a computer. Let's say Xavier uses this device personally and, perhaps, thus enhances his abilities. Hmm... So this is how he finds a way to find new mutants? And apparently only he can use it.
But it doesn't really matter if he can't take control of me or get into my head, his mind is too weak compared to mine. At the moment, I am using all seven parallel consciousnesses to the maximum, my mind is not just a fortress, but literally an impenetrable machine. I didn't check about magic, of course, but it never worked very well against me. At least for a long period of time. And about magic... Seals. Since my release, I have allocated one parallel consciousness to study it, and after all three, as soon as I got here and became stronger and was able to decipher the seal only... by three percent. Knowing my intellectual capabilities, and I am able to calculate dozens, if not thousands of variations of these seals, it took too long. Apparently, I will have to forget about my three consciousnesses for now, they will work autonomously and not interfere with my thoughts with a sudden flow of information, consider that I will close them from the main mind. It will just be easier and I will be able to focus on other things. The seals, of course, are undoubtedly important, but apparently the Red One calculated my capabilities and how much time I might need. And maybe I'll use a copy of this seal for something more serious.
In the laboratory, I immediately got down to business, because there was little time left before dawn, and there was even too much work. And to facilitate the whole action, I used one ability that I had previously thought about, but did not use because it was unnecessary. The point is that I can create my own doppelganger by giving him my parallel consciousness. My mind is now like a "mosaic", which I can safely separate in parts, except for the main piece, or as I say scientifically, the core of the entire "mosaic". In general, I have not tried to do this, but I have been thinking about this for a long time. Okay, let's try it. First, we isolate consciousness, then we take it out for the "mosaic", and then he will do everything himself. After a couple of moments, the second me literally started to get out of me, who first looked at himself and looked at me.
- Weak, ten times weaker than the original, - hmm, it's interesting, of course, to listen to yourself from the outside.
- I think the more divisions, the weaker the body, - meanwhile, I did not feel any weakness and was on alert. - Are there any seals left?
- yes. Apparently, the soul also shares with consciousness, but this one is already interesting... And if the copy dies? What will happen then? Will this piece of my soul be destroyed or will it come back to me? I'm not afraid of physical death, but I'm afraid of mental death.
- Okay, let's get to work, and then we'll check the sensations and the rest, - I didn't even need to say anything, my copy understood me instantly, not even a single glance was needed. I was making the main mechanism of the whole structure, and the copy was a web. After disassembling the web shooter, as Petra called it, everyone took the right part and I made a complete copy of the design, changing only some things and the main composite metal. After a couple of hours, everything was ready and all that remained was to check. He put a small box on the table and shot a spider web into it, while the clone tested its strength and plasticity.
- Not bad, the web now practically does not conduct electricity, and its quality has improved. The strength is higher by a couple... no, seven times, the plasticity is only five times. Apparently, the metal was not suitable enough," my clone said.
- But this is the best we have at the moment. It seems that Xavier was talking about one thing, Adamantium, practically the most durable metal on the planet, but I have never met it in my universe. Unless, of course, it's my "indestructible", which is also quite real. - the color is as similar as possible, that is, gray, melts at very high temperatures, after which it quickly becomes incredibly hard. - Come back, - I gave him my hand and he took it without a drop of doubt, merging with me again. And I immediately felt full again. Apparently, the feeling was on the verge of consciousness and I just didn't see it, because I was focused on something else. And I also got a memory of everything he did. And yes, as I thought, he soaked the web and embedded metal atoms in it.
Nevertheless, it was a very interesting experience, the parallel consciousness has not only my personality, but also all my desires, but at the same time it realizes itself only as a part of me, which cannot exist without the original. My part cannot betray me, or rather, it makes no sense to them, they will not try to take control of my mind, because all their attempts will be in vain. This... Still, it's a little strange. And it was noticeably more difficult to copy, because he was alone and he had to calculate everything alone, when together we find the answer much faster. But the experiment was successful, perhaps I will use this method again. And now, let's clean up all the mess that I've made here and go to class.
***
The classes were ordinary, the children got used to me and began to develop themselves, even outside of lessons and show their knowledge during the lesson, which pleased me. My method of teaching them worked, and the method was quite simple: to be straightforward and humorous. To be straightforward, that is, to say everything head-on, to speak all knowledge directly and simply, and not in different terms and formulas that almost no one will understand. At first, he explained, showed various examples, made some branches so that their heads would not explode, after which they themselves went to the blackboard and calmly solved almost everything. Humorous means often joking and telling different things, distracting from a too difficult moment, so that after it you can start with a lightened head. The usual psychology, but the method worked perfectly, and I was doubly glad.
- Mr. Trigg, - almost immediately after the call, Petra found herself at my desk with burning eyes, waiting for good news. - Uh, you go, I'll catch up with you! - apparently, feeling the eyes of her friends on her, she turned and waved at them. They looked at me, then at the girl, and starting to whisper and nod to each other, they quickly left the classroom. I'll probably ignore what they were talking about. Sometimes, superhuman hearing is more of a hindrance than a help. And noticing the girl's reddened face, she heard it all too and looked away.
- Ahem, - I attracted her attention and she looked at me, and blushed even more. - I made a trial version, - I said and took out my version of the web shooter from the table, which in a couple of moments ended up in the hands of the girl. Embarrassment faded into the background and she completely concentrated on this thing. - I would not say that it is completely successful. I think the web can be made even stronger and more plastic, depending on the metal that can be embedded in the atoms of the web.
- We need to test it in practice! - Petra said right away.
- I'm afraid it's too early. There are few cobwebs, I only made a trial cartridge inside the web shooter, so far there is no more. We need to improve it to the end and then do more," I stopped her impulses.
- Then let me help you! I may not look like it, but I've already been to the lab and helped Professor McCoy! And Professor Xavier often asked for help..." but she immediately stopped, embarrassed. - Don't think about it, I'm not bragging in any way! Well, it's just that I was often praised for the help I provided...
"You're doing great, Petra," I smiled and stroked the girl's fluffy hair. - One more hand is just right for me, - smiling happily, the girl almost rushed into my arms.
- I'm me... See you later! - and another girl ran away. Apparently, it's my curse to make ordinary girls run away at a touch... And she ran away so that only her heels sparkled. And she took a trial web shooter with her. Yeah. I think she'll only realize it halfway through. Okay, we'll meet later anyway, but now I have to go to Xavier, it's time to execute our plan about Laura. First, we need to do something about her fear of me. We haven't seen each other yet, but passively she already considers me an enemy who needs to be either killed or run away from to another part of the planet. And what exactly kept her from the second one interests me to some extent. However, I will not find out this, nevertheless, the initial task is to help the girl, and not to bring her to the grave.
After closing the classroom and throwing in the key, I went to Xavier's office. I walked and met quite happy children who were talking cheerfully and sending each other happy smiles, and I just wondered again: why did Anna find this place chilling? Yes, there is discipline here, but it is in any school, and there are more indulgences here than in any other educational institution. I would even call the atmosphere excessively pleasant. And no, the children's smiles are sincere, their feelings are too, of course it's strange to hear this from me, but I just feel it. They have no fear of this school, on the contrary, they are afraid of what is behind it. Most of these teenagers are afraid of ordinary people. They are afraid of prejudice against them. Apparently, Anna is not used to such an attitude, where everyone can understand and accept you, so she has rejection, fear that she is simply being deceived.
- Oh, - I heard a very recognizable voice again and saved one person from falling. "I'm sorry, Mr. Trigg," Kitty said, and innocently blinked her eyes. And yes, she bumped into me again. Of course, I could have dodged it, but I didn't know that after going through two walls, she would turn off her ability as soon as she came out to the corridor.
- You know, such frequency of collisions suggests that you are doing this on purpose, - I chuckled, putting the girl on her feet.
- It's all an accident! And anyway, it's not my fault that you walk exactly at those moments when I walk through walls!
- Maybe then you should stop walking through walls? With an important snort, the girl gave me a cursory glance and importantly walked towards the living room.
- Are you with us today? - but at the last moment Kitty turned her head towards me.
"No, I have some things to do," she nodded gravely and walked on. I went upstairs.
