"It's kind of cold and dark. Heard what happened with Becky, right? You really shouldn't drive home this late," Josh said, glancing around his neighborhood.
"I feel horrible for her but the thing is I saw this coming. There's only so much you can say as a journalist without stepping on someone's toes. I'll be frank, her recent antics annoyed me too. But as for sleeping over.."
"Thing is...I didn't come with a change of clothes," Tessa said, a note of uncertainty in her voice.
"Since when did that become an issue? You always wore mine" Josh replied with a teasing grin.
Tessa hesitated for a moment, then suggested, "Well, how about we head to my place instead? I've got some beer in the fridge I haven't touched in a while."
A smile tugged at the corners of Josh's lips. "Sounds like a plan."
