Reacting on instinct, I turned swiftly and, with a quick motion, incapacitated the approaching figure before I even realized who it was.
As they crumpled to the ground, I felt a pang of guilt wash over me, quickly followed by relief as I recognized Yumi and her younger sister Lise standing before me.
"I knocked a child to the ground," I muttered to myself, chastising my actions even as I felt a surge of gratitude for the unexpected encounter.
Lise glowered at me, her eyes flashing with anger, and I hurriedly released her sister before standing up to face them both.
"I'm sorry," I said, my voice heavy with remorse. "I didn't mean to hurt you. Are you alright?"
" Yes." responded Yumi before stepping back a little from me. I think she is affraid of me now.
